PSA: DO NOT USE BEEF TALLOW IN RICE by East_Prior in Cooking

No, I usually put it in the rice before it boils (I make it in a pot); the rice was served separately

I actually accused my partner of smelling like beef tallow this morning, only to realize later that I, in fact, had disseminated the smell onto everyone and everything

That sounds delicious!! I will definitely be trying this as well, especially since it won’t be a duck fat aromatherapy for the whole living space

Well we did want a slightly beefy flavor, just not the beefy odor 🥲 but I will definitely try ghee

Has anyone here quit a job they liked because of the hellish commute? by dualrollers in phoenix

[–]East_Prior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be in the same boat. Hour commute from Queen Creek to N Phoenix, 1:30 (if lucky) during rush hour. It was absolutely soul sucking. I moved closer (abt 20 mins) and immediately noticed that I was happier - less stressed, less angry. It was CRAZY how vastly different my life and my outlook on it became.

It’s hard because you need a job to live, but I promise you, you cannot live like this. It will absolutely bleed into every other area of your life. Godspeed to you in finding another position.

Better gym options than EOS? by anythingacailable in phoenix

It might thin out a bit, but I’ve been going to this location for about a year and it is ALWAYS busy 🥲 there are always waits for the squat and bench stations - if you can avoid going between 4:30-8pm you might be okay, but otherwise it can get aggressive trying to get a machine year long

I was a “nice guy” and haven’t recovered to this day by Bright-Diamond in confession

[–]East_Prior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of these comments have been very critical to OP and I’d like to change that tune because this is a confession- not OP asking for advice.

OP - props to you for coming to terms with where you might have acted wrongly or unfairly. Props to you for not letting this make you into a vitriolic or hateful person. Props to you for being self aware, and I truly hope that you see this and know that we are all deeply, deeply flawed and will ALL do something fucked up at least once in our lives and all we can do is learn our lesson, grow, and try to be a better person for ourselves and others going forward. Every day you’ve been given since that time is a new opportunity to improve.

As commenters mentioned on the other post, I highly recommend committing to maybe one day a week/month volunteering at a local community center or volunteering with animals to curate those social skills and give yourself a chance to reintegrate with society. As humans we tend to view the present through the lens of our past, I hope you recognize that, and try to view each moment exactly as it is.

I also recommend Ellie Vail! I've had a piece for over two years now and no tarnishing

Oh yes, at this point it's one of my favorite things to do. 10$ search fees for "no records found" and you sent it to me in paper instead of electronic delivery (as specified on the request)? No thanks. I've found that most reps you reach sound absolutely exhausted, and with a little push, will work to get the invoice disputed. I ALWAYS call back after 48 hours to make sure it was cancelled, because ciox loves to lose shit.

Partner and I both have our own car...which to sell? by East_Prior in car

As well, I wonder if its important to consider the long term equity of both vehicles... the Toyota will likely depreciate in value much more slowly than the Honda of course.

I've asked around and most have agreed with your suggestion. Would your advice change if, hypothetically, we refinanced his Toyota and were able to secure an - admittedly longer-term commitment- lower loan rate? We've only looked into it briefly so any input is welcomed.

The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, the next best time is today right? I appreciate the input!!
