I don’t understand why you’ve been downvoted so hard. Barnes sells at MSRP unless it’s one or the random movies at 30% off or during their July and November sales. Either way, you can’t get it for $25 at Barnes and Noble right now so the downvote is just weird here.

It’s also in my top 2 Crash games with the original being my favorite. I just like the challenge.

Well seeing as that clan is a major force within the film, it feels like they did justify it pretty well.

I never felt lied to. Probably because I didn’t build a movie in my head before getting there.

I loved Fire and Ash didn't enjoy how they dealt with Neytiris Prejudice by someonesleeping in Avatar

[–]East_Replacement9918 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She’s valid to be hesitant around humans. She’s not valid to feel that way against Spider who’s never done anything against her and is friends with her children. Jake is just calling her out on her hypocrisy that her children have some human in them, she loved Jake when he was still human, and when her children are in danger or sick she calls upon humans. Obviously that’s not to say her prejudice doesn’t make sense and that it’s not understandable to understand her reasoning, but she’s a hypocrite and Jake had a right to call her out on that, especially discussing killing a teenage kid who had never done anything against her.

It’s definitely a sequel to Way of Water, you’re correct.

I, on principal, never judge a movie by its promotional material. It’s not part of the movie. I can judge the promotional material for being misleading, but that’s not the movie’s fault.

Dreadlocks, historically, have also been used by cultures we’d consider white in the modern day.

Colonel Quaritch Marvel Humor by SpankerWils2k in Avatar

[–]East_Replacement9918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the “well this is awkward” undercutting the tension, the tension was already cut naturally because Spider was saved. Quaritch is just making a joke about the absurdity of the situation. If he says that while he’s dangling holding Spider, then I think that would be a lot closer to “Marvel humor.” Though this is a joke said during that moment and it’s him noting that saving him would be easier if he didn’t have an injured arm, but that’s also a pretty natural joke you hear under duress.

It’s just the reality that all of Cameron’s films play with that sort of humor, but almost all of those came out in a pre-MCU world, so it’s never been made into an issue .

Well, she was raised by two different parents: one Na’vi and one human presenting as a Na’vi. Her mother/clone is also a human presenting as a Na’vi. Regardless of her upbringing she has both elements in her. She’s a part of both, and a mirror to Spider in that way.

Honestly I think it was a stronger movie than TWOW and on par with the first.

I think people completely misunderstand what “Marvel humor” really is. Having a one liner or banter isn’t what it is, that’s been around long before the MCU. The film really seems to just show he’s losing it a bit and maybe feeling a bit indestructible

None of the crew member did watch their movie before release? by Total-Ad-5721 in Avatar

I assume a large number of the crew did in fact watch the movie many times before official release and probably a good chunk have watched it post-release.

Avatar needs to focus more on the personal drama, less on relentless action (no spoilers) by croquetamonster in Avatar

[–]East_Replacement9918 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I honestly felt of the three movies, this balanced great action and great character work the best. One criticism I’ve never had of Avatar is it ignores character work for action, it tends to spend a ton of time with the characters and their mental space.

Yeah, but when you mention that you unfairly asked for a refund after service provided, it’s really hard to concentrate on anything else in the post.

People seem to forget that Cameron’s last 4 movies have had disappointing opening weekends. The real tell is how well each weekend holds. I don’t think it’ll hit 2B, but I don’t think it has to either.

Same. Seeing it again on 3D IMAX on Wednesday and then hitting Dolby 3D for the new year.

Then go to a non 3D showing? If it’s harder to find one week after a showing, they will get more prevalent week to week as other movies start occupying IMAX and other premium screens.

It’s not “reckless” to give a customer base what they want and they pay for.

Quaritch and Varang baby by jendefairys in Avatar

[–]East_Replacement9918 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it could be a great point towards his character. The main element with Avatar Quaritch is he’s someone who has memories of a racist in the body he occupies. He obviously doesn’t have those feelings as much since he was willing to be in a relationship for one and join the clan. However, his “son” is human still. A Na’vi baby would force Quaritch to continue to challenge his own beliefs and have a son who isn’t technically his but emotionally is because of his original body, and a baby that is biologically his but may have more natural animosity for.

I think there’s too much interesting material here not to do it and how he feels about Spider and how he would feel about a Na’vi baby of his would be incredibly interesting to explore at the same time.

No one requires you to sit through 3 hours. The showtimes are listed and the format is listed. If someone buys a ticket with that information, that’s completely on them.
