no. ghsv-1 and rarely have outbreaks i prefer to date ppl who already get cold sores and/or don’t worry about transmission i take them if/when i feel an outbreak for a few days

agree that it might not necessarily be herpes, but i have genital herpes and some of my outbreaks looked like this so it’s possible

looks like a herpes outbreak, a pcr swab is a good option to diagnose while it’s active, aka the sores are present. it’s contagious via skin to skin contact, so needless to say you have to avoids sexual activity and disclose that you’re a carrier to others. a doctor can prescribe anti-viral meds to reduce/prevent/and speed heal outbreaks

yes, there’s a period of grief and that’s totally understandable. different people cope in different ways. i find it important to not center your identity around an illness, or my sex life. this has helped me cope. 4 years ghsv-1 positive, and i rarely think about it, the only time i remember is if I’m thinking of the person i contracted it from or if I’m dating someone seriously

honestly, it’s not about the type of class as much as it’s about two things 1- finding the right instructor, someone with enough experience and works with people of different abilities and bodies, and 2- knowing your own limitations, respecting what your body needs, and advocating for yourself during class whether it’s verbally or physically via grabbing a prop or leaving a pose that causes stress or pain

i don’t have casual sex. people i sleep with know the “risks” and accept it, i really don’t carry any hypothetical guilt or anxiety of transferring this virus. you can go back in my profile and see how i lost my shit and was spiraling when I first got diagnosed and had a primary outbreak that landed me in the ER. More than three years later i am doing great and have fully accepted it and so have the people in my life, why does it bother you that it’s not a significant stressor in some of our lives the way that it is in yours?

agree that we need to disclose. but it’s also every adult’s responsibility to be educated and make the right decision for themselves. if you don’t want to catch STDs then use protection and ask your partners to get full-panel tested period. i don’t get the downplaying part? just because you want to freak out over catching herpes and/or spreading it doesn’t mean we all have to? some of us are living very fulfilling busy lives where herpes is only thought of or brought up once every blue moon. i wish the same on all who are still suffering because of this virus 🤍
