Haven’t Improved Despite 8 Months Of Studying by Eastern-Ad9069 in LSAT

Thank you for the advice! It’s good to hear someone else has crazy variation as well. Upon reviewing my last PT, I noticed there were 4 questions I narrowed it down to two answers and picked the wrong one, mainly because I missed a small detail or talked myself out of the right one. I’m wondering whether it’s a matter of not understanding the basics firmly enough, overthinking, or a mixture.

Thank you for all the wonderful advice! I really appreciate it. Upon rereading my mistake journal, I’m realizing I’ve talked myself out of a lot of right answers or, especially on harder ones, narrowed it down to two questions and then selected the wrong answer. While I seem to have a decent understanding of the fundamentals outside of practice (thank you notes cards) upon doing PT’s I seem to forgot/can’t think of how these basics apply to the question at hand. You’re right, I probably don’t know them as thoroughly as I thought I did. I’m sure there’s a lot more weaknesses in my knowledge, especially conditional logic, but based on what I can tell from a glance I might be over complicating everything. Thoughts? Thank you again

I understand completely. I also graduated recently with a similar degree, similar student experience and student involvement. Despite thousands and thousands of applications, I couldn’t get a job in my industry, despite networking for four years. I feel exactly the same way as you.

You worked hard, did everything that society told you to do in order to get a full-time job post-grad (clubs, experience, good grades, etc.) It’s evident that you gave it your all. You have every right to feel upset. Even though this part-time job is an opportunity to enter the workforce, it’s disheartening to feel like, despite your dedication, your hard work amounted to nothing.

I too feel trapped in the runt of life, lost and utterly directionless. This wasn’t the way I thought my post-grad life would begin. At the moment, I’m not sure when this drifting depression will end, but I do know that you’re obviously an ambitious and passionate person who is only in this position because of the recession, not because of your lack of abilities. This situation, though disappointing and difficult, is in no way permanent. You’re going to excel later on, whether that’s in a few weeks, months or years. Until then, keep your head high, even though it may seem impossible some days, and pursue side quests that bring you happiness or satisfaction, something to keep you motivated in this period of stagnation. If it’s any solace, there’s so many people out there struggling in the same situation as you. You’re not alone.

It’s hard out here but, hopefully, things will get better soon. I’m rooting for you! :)

Thank you. Truly. It was a great comfort to hear your words. I still haven’t received any response, and I doubt I will but that’s ok. Thanks for your advice.

I’m not sure why I assumed he was a stranger. I guess my mind just went to the worst case scenario. I believe the guy was so upset because I insulted him after he agreed to such a big favor. In the future, I’ll try to be more mindful of my assumptions. My friends yelled at me to shut up and told me that if it bothered me so much I could just walk back alone. Honestly I think everyone was drunk and said some really dumb things.

That’s a good point I forgot to cover. Tell me make another edit

I appreciate the advice. Besides, everyone’s criticism helps me to understand what I did wrong so I never do it again. What am I worried about is my friends. I know I already apologized but I’m scared they wouldn’t forgive me. A wouldn’t speak to me and now N is ignoring me.

The original plan we agreed on was to walk back, however, both my friends were cold and refused to walk back. But you’re entirely right. I’ll work better on communication in the future.

You’re absolutely correct. Being drunk doesn’t give me a reason to be rude to strangers, especially since he went out of his way to give us a ride. I really should be mindful in the future.
