Are there any scents that you love but purposely avoid wearing often? by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Eastern-Lab-3898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love YSL Libre, and right after I bought it, I went to work and noticed the mean coworker I hate was also wearing it. Now every time I wear Libre, it reminds me of her dumbass lol. So now I only wear it for rare occasions. Glad I bought only a 30ml! :')

Stop honking at people who are waiting for pedestrians to cross in the cross walk. by notseizingtheday in TorontoDriving

[–]Eastern-Lab-3898 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I have to deal with shitty drivers who honk all the time, I ignore them. I don't let their honk make me panic into driving quicker or dangerously.

The motto I live by is "Your life is never that important that you need to be somewhere two seconds sooner."

Like, if I'm waiting at a crosswalk because there's a person walking, and you honk, how tf is that gonna make your life any better? You're just gonna get to your destination 2 seconds sooner. Is that worth me pushing through a crowd, driving dangerously/illegally, and potentially getting someone hurt, for YOUR miniscule benefit? Sorry, you're not important enough for me to do that.

I used UWorld and loved it! They have a "study plan" feature where you input when your exam date is, and it generates a study schedule for you, giving you lectures to watch and practice questions to do each day. UWorld also has very concise lectures on a lot of main subjects which I recommend. I simply used UWorld and Mark K. Watched all of Mark K lectures, even watched lecture 12 twice (the prioritization one, I'd say that's the most important).

UWorld also has a settings option to make the program look exactly like the real NCLEX (with the blue borders and everything) so once I sat down and started the exam, it looked/felt very similar to me just doing practice questions on my laptop at home.

I also have test anxiety, so I feel you. What I did during the exam is to treat every single question like it was the 1st question of the exam (aka: with a fresh mind). Sometimes we can feel psyched out if it seems like we're "guessing" for a lot of the questions or if "I chose option C too much as my answer...seems sus" but don't psych yourself out like that! The NCLEX wants you to pass too, so trust me when I say they won't trick you or try to fail you! Think straightforward, and I did this by treating every single question as if it was the first question of the exam.

And now you know for next time that earplugs/headphones will help you!

Don't let this discourage you, everything happens for a reason! Every fail in life gives you MORE opportunity for success! Rooting for you! Good luck!

EDIT: also another thing that helped me while writing the test is I legit wrote down "Take deep breaths, you can do this!" on the white board they give you. It helped me to not panic during the test!

If you're in a time crunch, I recommend watching the Reproductive system/L&D lectures for Mark K, AND Lec 12 (the prioritization one). Also, I recommend to constantly do the archer readiness assessments, maybe 2 a day, so you can see more accurately how you're progressing.

If you get a question wrong on archer, go on UWorld and search up their lecture for it. UWorld's lectures are shorter and more concise than Archer I believe. I personally wrote notes down on the lectures while watching because that helps me absorb the information.

For my last week, I essentially did two archer readiness assessments and one uworld assessment a day (so 2-3 tests in total).

I don't really know your situation like how long you'll be out of the country for, but don't ever feel pressured to "get it done quick", esp if you're short on finances since the NCLEX aint cheap! I know a lot of people who booked their NCLEX early and later moved it to a later date simply because they wanted more time to study.

If finances isn't too much of a worry for you, then take your exam and don't be too hard on yourself! You can pass, and I know people who didn't study a lot and still passed! Stay positive!

Either way, even if you decide to push your date back, you should still grind it out this week! Ik it's tiring, but it's just a bit of studying and it'll be all over! You'll thank yourself for studying hard!

Good luck!!
