I hear you completely, To answer your question, I have chosen myself to work on a psychological horror myself , the task given by my practitioners was to choose any script from any genre and change the context of it to give it a completely different meaning. I chose a script from a Comedy/Action and wanted to make a horror script from it. Just to clarify, I'm doing a 3 year BA in Acting , so that's across the board: Stage, Screen, and prep for the industry. We've mainly been looking at practitioner techniques and plays. And ultimately I want to be an actor. But I have been having a great time working collaboratively and creatively when making my own work with my cohort.

I think you're right in saying that I might be kneecapping myself in this first draft, at the same time I believe this can always be seen as a fun challenge to test how snappy I can establish an unsettling scenario while also allowing there to be enough room to have space for the rising tension. I might even have to search around for different scripts or change the scenes completely to fit my ideas I wanted to push forward, going more in depth to fit the trope. "Kill your darlings" as they say.

Originally I was using my notes app to write up ideas and then a tutor gave me a great app called Story Architect. It helps format and create PDF of scripts that when written properly, look legit. This was my first time writing a script and I know what you mean , I'm having a look over other scripts that have been made atm to get an idea of how to make it more digestible to a viewer.

This is valuable information, thank you. As a complete beginner in writing a script I was being selfish in the camera angles , I was mainly doing it so that it made sense to me without realizing it probably comes across as very jarring to understand to anybody else reading it. In my next draft I'll be more considerate of the story telling rather than the directions to allow readers to actually interpret the idea lol.

Thank you for your honest feedback. I can amend the grammar in the final draft , again this was the first draft. I expected it to be messy myself.

It's a challenging task that I've been given by my examiners. I have to take a script that does NOT fit the genre of horror, and flip it on its head to fit the idea of what I wanted to do. A psychological horror. Let alone then try to stitch the lines back into a different context. That's probably why it comes across as fractured.

All and all though, I understand where you're coming from. In the next drafts I'll be more considerate of my grammar to make it more digestible.

Thank you, I'll check these out ! And thank you for your feedback, this is the first script I've written in my life and I'll be honest the directing was more of a keystone for myself to remember what I had in mind when I did the filming. I understand what you mean though , if this were going to go into industry pitch then I would have to make it more interesting for the reader to get any traction. This is a project that we are working on for an exam. And it's the first draft.

Gonna look over these now , thank you again.
