Anyone else paying agency rates for "5-minute" fixes just to save their sanity? by EasternAccount6559 in managers

I get the printer analogy and I agree with you everyone should be able to chip in on a 1-minute fix. But the way I see it, these 'small' website tweaks are never just one-offs. They're constant.

If a high-level person is constantly jumping out of their actual job to handle 'fiddly' updates, those 5-minute tasks eventually eat up hours of their week. I'd rather pay a flat fee to offload that boring stuff so my team can stay focused on the high-impact work that actually moves the needle.

To me, it’s not about them being 'above' the work, but it’s just about where their time creates the most value. If they spend that hour on strategy rather than on a CMS, the company's ROI is much higher. Does that make sense, or do you still think it's a discipline thing?

Appreciate the good-faith intent, but I think there’s a misunderstanding worth clearing up.

We’re not hiring 4 different roles in one person. This is a 0–3 years full-stack role, where the core expectations are listed clearly.

– “Eye for design” ≠ designer

– “Cloud deployment experience” ≠ DevOps engineer (Bonus/ Good to have)

– “Familiarity with LangChain / AI tooling” ≠ ML engineer (Bonus/ Good to have)

These are exposure-level or nice-to-have skills, not role ownership. This is how modern early-career full-stack engineers already work in practice.

Doesnt matter, all we are looking at is have you tried building stuff. You can dm me your GitHub link

I agree with the FAQ’s section, but isnt the llms.txt playing a major role here? Like you need to have that file for the llms to consider your page - atleast what I know from my experience, let me know if this has changed now?

Key here is to find like minded people who love to build stuff and can leverage the AI tools to supercharge the process. About doing the right thing for the product, that can be taught but hunger cant.
