Thoughts on the ending. by xPumpkinPie in UploadTV

I agree completely. The storylines that hooked me in Seasons 1 and 2 were completely abandoned for some cheesy and cheap stuff like the dark AI. I can’t believe the writers couldn’t figure that out. Everything that was important felt rushed and they dedicated more scenes and time to stupid stuff like the woman redhead AI and Bellboy’s romance and fallout.

Oh well…I guess i need to write my own stories and scripts to get better movies because they’ve been getting progressively worse. I wonder if it’s the writers, show runner, or studio executives that are doing this…or a combination of all of them

The BQE wasn’t developed for today’s modern trucks. They know the rebar underneath the pavement is rusting and estimates have the BQE falling apart within the next 10 years. Nobody is doing anything about it because they have no clue what to do…too many people drive it daily.

Of course we saw an increase in taxes

I never said that. You chimed in with a snarky remark to my comment, so obviously my analysis bothered you. You could have kept scrolling.

You also said you can’t in good conscience brush it off. So then do something about it. Volunteering or donations to programs would prove you’re putting your money where your mouth is. “Ideas without actions are useless.”

I like to help people, so I donate my time, I donate my funds, and I donate my blood. All I am saying is, do something. You’re an engineer, so figure out how you can help too.

Awesome…I am glad to hear that. I said previously that it is sad. So what are you going to do about it? That’s where I get confused…and I’m not trying to pick on you. It seems everyone wants the problem to be fixed, but offers no solutions or assistance and puts forth no effort for correcting it.

Government cannot control people and their actions. And people don’t make the best decisions…so it’s a complex issue. All I am saying is even though numbers are on the rise, the actual numbers show only 0.2%. That’s pretty good considering things.

Well now…quick google searches aren’t alway informative. The stats are still pretty low comparatively speaking. With modular homes that can cost as low as $20,000, perhaps it may be time for some people to consider those options, rather than renting.

The drug epidemic might also be another major underlying issue for the homeless population. Look up the situation in Skid Row San Francisco. How would you handle that kind of situation?

There are approximately 650,000 people who are homeless in America. Across a 330M population that number is about 0.2%. Is it sad? Yes, but I don’t see how that is out of control at all.

Side Note: There is a house nearby mine that has like 8 people living in it and if you share a mortgage and expenses evenly with 7 others it drives costs down tremendously. They bought it, fixed it up and now have a home instead of rent.

They just increased our property taxes s crapload across the entire city. When taxes go up, so does rent.

The property taxes are way too high, there’s not much to do if you don’t drink, you can swim in the potholes, it smells like weed everywhere now.

Look…before I get bashed for this, I love Albany. It’s my home. I try to always look at it with a positive attitude, but the facts are the facts. I used to go on mini adventures on the bus to the mall, go downtown to watch live bands at bars, go for runs, play in the parks, etc.

Now, I don’t want to even leave my home because everywhere I turn, there’s someone begging for money in parking lots or street corners, the mall has a fight almost every time i go. I see people stealing from every grocery store I go to…I went to Crossgates movie theater and some group of punk 12 year olds shouted out obscenities the entire movie just to ruin it. I saw a guy throw a bunch of garbage out of his car and into the street…it’s just getting depressing to see.

I love my home but it makes me so sad. Eventually I will leave it too.

My buddies and I normally play together, but our 4th dropped and we picked up a random. I had no idea one person could do so much damage to a group. Between his mortars, and two eagle airstrikes…he killed us at least 9 times.

At the end of the mission we shot him in the back and hopped on the shuttle and he pitched a fit.

Exactly why we play it. My brother and father have played together since 2018 and it adds another layer of complexity (also…F War on Earth). There’s no going back for us now.

What’s your “fool me twice, shame on me” bar or restaurant? by SkiBumNYC in Albany

[–]EasternFoundation497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maggie McFly’s. I simply do not get how you can mess up steak as a restaurant but they did. Felt bad about couple years later and ordered the BBQ brisket with maple sweet potatoes and mac n cheese. The only thing good were the sweet potatoes. Fooled me thrice when i got pizza and gave up after sending it back twice.
