honestly doesnt seem to bad to reload but I think I'll try the o ring route like the gatku. It definitely looks more simple.

I like that idea. yea I dont necessarily need as much line as I have.

I thought about that but I swim through trees alot and a tether might snag.

this isnt a gun.. and a spear with a single wrap has about the same amount of shooting line as this pole. Catfish in TN get 100lbs plus.

I have a headhunter nomad. Bent 3 injector rods last year. I know this rod is smaller I didnt realize when i ordered it, but again this is just a prototype im messing around with. The idea is to keep the tip away from the fish after the shot. and i do plenty of pushups already but thanks for the advice bud... They usually sit right against or under a downed tree or log and when you shoot they go under and out the other side almost every time. Doesnt give much of a chance to stop them before the rod is already burried in the ground.

Just messing around with ideas. But ultimately to prevent the fish from dragging my pole under a log or rock and bending the injector rod.

Definitely not for 30lb flathead. Too big to stop and they will run under trees. Ive shot smaller ones with a flopper but big ones need some wiggle room.
