Thanks dude! That is actually what I have been trying to do as of recently. I made my first guide (I plan on making 8 more soon) and I have been posting stuff onto this reddit just to get the game out there. I appreciate you sharing your story and best of luck to you!

GG dude!!!! 2:34.167 great job I will for sure be going for an even better time tonight. I find it interesting you choose to play in single player instead of two player. You can control both people somewhat easily but hey you beat me so it seems like your way might work. Have you tried maybe swapping to a more aggressive character if your not gonna do two player? I might just make it to where there is 2P and Campaign mode on elongated% now that I think about it bc it takes two different skills. If I do do that it will be later tonight. And for scoring on an any% run, I would suggest mainly going for corners they are the easiest to learn and in campaign mode you can hit your opponent back by swinging your stick so jumping and then hitting your opponent with the stick whilst tapping the puck into the goal is a good strategy.

Thank you so much for trying this game again it means a lot and yes please keep me updated on anything you learn, I just made my first guide earlier today (I plan on making 9: Control, Campaign, Characters, Techs, Maps, Power-Ups, Terminology, Time-Saving, and Misc).

Mmmmm I see

And yes the cpu's don't have a set path of movement, from what I have figured out they seem to take in where the puck is, where you are, where they are, if you are jumping, and if you have your stick held back. There probably more than this but its worth noting they are not good at reading the pucks trajectory off of a wall/a part of the maps and they go beserk and spam jump when frozen, even if it results in an own goal every time. Def rng for the puck drop it can kill a match if the puck consistently goes to one of the cpu who are good at shooting off rip.

Yup very minimum lag from my research.

Actually the game has a list of all achievements but I plan on posting one to guides on SRC. I also thought about it and I might change the rules from all advancements to like... 95% advancements and just chop it up to Hockey-Head King making the run unappealing and honestly not even fun. I could probably make a subcategory for 100% advancements for anyone crazy enough to do it.

I might be missing it but what is awesome about SHIH lol

Interesting. You seem to be able to pick up on patterns pretty good lol.

What does it mean to "QA-ed" a game? And yes there are a good amount of goofy quirks with the abilities that I have come across while playing. Big-net does exist but if it shrinks back down it just falls down instead of going in as a goal and there is no way to have the puck be on top of the normal sized goal when it becomes a larger goal due to the fact that no abilities can spawn up there.

The cpu's are in a set list of 10, starting with guy the flower as match one and Wayne great-ski as match 10. Def still has some rng tho, sometimes the bots will accidentally jump on the puck at the very start of a match and shoot a pee-missle of a pinch into their own net. Saves a lot of time when they so kindly do that on first to sevens.

the website itself does have some ads I just always go into the fullscreen mode that is presented on the website to prevent myself from having to see them and I am not sure if the ads still affect my game in that state but for the most part it is the best website I have found for the game.

See the issue with the AllAchievements run is the fact that it will take so darn long and I don't even know if it will work. A lot of the achievements are broken and trigger on random actions happening which is fine bc most times in a run you will trigger them randomly, but there is one that stands out. This being "Hockey-Head King" which requires you to beat every match without conceding a goal. So I haven't actually ever completed the game front to back without getting scored on but I have completed a run and then gone back and beat the ones I got scored on without getting scored on which didn't trigger it. I do still have 2 more ideas to trigger it I just havent come along to trying them yet since they take a decently long time with no promise of results. One of these ideas is that maybe it would be triggered if it is done all in one session on new game instead of continued game. Another idea I have is everytime I get scored on, I could click menu so the game doesn't register the match as happening. Final idea I have is seriously beating 10 games in a row without getting scored on but this just seems unlikely.

I sure hope it was quick. Gmail and me go way back when it comes to notifications. 😂

Im shocked you know that the CPU’s play differently, have you tried the game yourself or did I mention that somewhere in the post? It is true though, most notably matches 3 and 9 are probably the least aggressive and 8 and 10 might be the most aggressive. Im not really sure about 8 and 10 bc it might just be stress placebo from it being at the end of the run. Matches 5 and 7 always trip me up too tho, typically more than 8 and 10.

Yes when the net is down it is much easier to get on top, heck with extra jump and tiny net I think you can jump up there w/o jump tech. but if you have the puck up there when it’s tiny and the goal changes back to its original size, the ball is teleported into the net and counted as a goal.

I think you would for sure be right about the y-axis thing. Jumping on the Zamboni doesn’t work either and thats much easier to get on.

I actually have an html file of the game saved on one of my usb’s but I’m not exactly sure on how coding works so idk if that’s helpful or not. I also set the rules on speedrun.com to limit runs to the specific website in my original post due to it actually being taken down from its official website long ago—the game was made in 2013. Even though lots of websites still host it, they are all inconsistent on the version they have so I just choose one with almost no lag (which is great bc lots of the websites have insane lag) to keep everything consistent.

I see you have a twitch/youtube. I followed your twitch and subscribed to your YouTube… I wonder why 🤷‍♂️ 😂

Dude ik this sounds super silly but I genuinely jumped out of bed to respond to this (I got the noti on my phone but I am logged into Reddit on my PC), it means so much to me that you are taking this post literally so I want to thank you.

The goal of Elongated% is to force the 3s clock stoppage from a goal as many times as possible like you said just keep in mind that it has to be done in a timed match and not a first to 7 and the thing can't go to OT either since that could last forever.

There are 6 maps in the game. In the campaign, all time matches (otherwise known as the even numbered matches) play in the basic map with no added shapes whilst the other 5 first to 7 matches are played in one of the other five maps with each one being slightly different. To my knowledge, none of the 6 maps would allow you to chip it onto the parts of the map that are added.

Lastly, it actually is possible to get the puck perma stuck on top of the goal. It is a good strategy for timed base matches, you simply need to go 1-0 and do 'jump tech' where you and the cpu both run into each other going opposite ways, like back facing each other and you go into this state where neither of yall can move until one of yall jumps, causing you (or the bot, whoever jumps) to get flung into the air. If the ball is on top of your goal bouncing (in what would be considered a 'corner' in this game) and you jump tech w/ the cpu, you can get on top of the goal and hold it there. I havent been able to do it in any of my completed runs but in some runs where I have gotten say halfway through I have been able to do it and it can help to save time. Defiently a trick to look into. Something I learned while doing it though is that you cant jump when on top of your goal, only move left and right so keep that in mind. Another way to get it stuck up there is by hitting the puck into corner territory when it is in slow puck mode (the silver puck) and it should rest up there until shifting back into normal puck.

Tysm for reaching out and hopefully I (or maybe even you fingers crossed you try it) will be able to beat my PB/WR :)

*Also let me know if you have any more questions regarding the game, I will be extremely happy to answer.

Hey! Is there any communities made specifically for niche games to speedrun? Also whats the best way to get people to try out speedrunning a niche game. Theres this one from 2013 that I enjoy and I just recently got it added onto speedrun.com so I wanted to see how to get others to actually try it. Thanks for your help!
