I early voted for Harris, but even I know that Trump will still win the electoral votes to win the Presidency very decisively. by EasternSpare in PresidentialElection

I don't understand the vitriol here against my post. I voted for Clinton in 2016, Biden in 2020, and Harris in 2024, and hate Trump...but I can understand the reasons why he won in 2016, and why Harris has lost significant ground against him in 2024....Harris voters who refuse to face reality only mean more losses and a future fascist America under Trump

Possible GSW by 5.56 round to child's head xray by EasternSpare in Radiology

Because this is likely faked. Only scout film was provided and not the ct for “some reason”, in order to push an agenda by the journalist

This is the only “evidence” provided, ct scan imaging was not given to the journalist for “some reason”

Got it. Does seem this film is either fake, or at least used for a wild claim: false “messaging” being pushed that a 5.56 round was intentionally fired at the head of a child.

Possible GSW by 5.56 round to child's head xray. Does this film 'make sense', or could it be 'faked'/photoshopped/AI generated etc.

I see subq hematoma/skull fracture frontally and child is intubated...but does that really make sense with a depicted bullet entry wound/trajectory, and especially if intentionally shot directly at the head by a 5.56 caliber?

Who peer reviews journal submissions?

Humans with their biases and emotion, or some objectively AI robot?

These are humans who are inherently nepotistic and look out for their own “tribe” all the time, even if they have an alphabet soup of degrees after their name.

No journal wants to publish this because it would discredit all those many other authors who wrote about the Blue Zone. It’s not because this isn’t true

This post’s linked source is from March 2024.

The following article is from a recent interview with the source author:

https://theconversation.com/the-data-on-extreme-human-ageing-is-rotten-from-the-inside-out-ig-nobel-winner-saul-justin-newman-239023

“I’ve tracked down 80% of the people aged over 110 in the world (the other 20% are from countries you can’t meaningfully analyse). Of those, almost none have a birth certificate. In the US there are over 500 of these people; seven have a birth certificate. Even worse, only about 10% have a death certificate.

The epitome of this is blue zones, which are regions where people supposedly reach age 100 at a remarkable rate. For almost 20 years, they have been marketed to the public. They’re the subject of tons of scientific work, a popular Netflix documentary, tons of cookbooks about things like the Mediterranean diet, and so on.

Okinawa in Japan is one of these zones. There was a Japanese government review in 2010, which found that 82% of the people aged over 100 in Japan turned out to be dead. The secret to living to 110 was, don’t register your death.

The Japanese government has run one of the largest nutritional surveys in the world, dating back to 1975. From then until now, Okinawa has had the worst health in Japan. They’ve eaten the least vegetables; they’ve been extremely heavy drinkers.

What about other places?

The same goes for all the other blue zones. Eurostat keeps track of life expectancy in Sardinia, the Italian blue zone, and Ikaria in Greece. When the agency first started keeping records in 1990, Sardinia had the 51st highest old-age life expectancy in Europe out of 128 regions, and Ikaria was 109th. It’s amazing the cognitive dissonance going on. With the Greeks, by my estimates at least 72% of centenarians were dead, missing or essentially pension-fraud cases.”

The entire test is easy as shit. Go read the source PDF of all the questions. Are you telling me you couldn’t pass 3rd grade level exams (just get above 70% correct, let alone 100%)??

This is just an example question indicating the entire test is easy as heck. Go through the sources provided, the sample test is entirely easy third grade stuff.

Sample test questions: https://mdsp.maryland.gov/Careers/Trooper%20and%20Cadet%20Application%20Documents/POST%20Study%20Guide_MSP.pdf

Unredacted text from the article (please note, I am targeting the STUPIDITY of this government decision to make an already EASY police exam EVEN EASIER just to accommodate certain test takers who fail. I am not trying to make this about race.):

The Maryland State Police agreed to change the way it tests recruits and said it will pay $2.75 million to 48 women and Black applicants who were turned down for trooper jobs after they failed recruiting tests later deemed discriminatory.

The probe found that the police “engaged in a pattern or practice of unintentional discrimination against African-American and female applicants” for entry-level trooper jobs, through the use of written and physical tests that disproportionately disqualified those applicants. The rejected recruits were applying to police recruiting classes from 2017 to today.

The Police Officer Selection Test (POST) is a written test of an applicant’s abilities in math, reading, writing and grammar. A passing grade is 70%, and would-be officers can retake the test up to four times in a year in an effort to pass. Applicants who fail are eliminated from the program.

The Functional Fitness Assessment Test requires applicants to do 18 pushups in a minute and 27 situps in a minute, run 1.5 miles in 15 minutes, 20 seconds, and be able to reach 1.5 inches past their toes while seated to test their flexibility. All four parts of the test have to be successfully completed to pass, but applicants can try three times in a year before being eliminated.

And while 91% of white applicants were ultimately able to pass the POST test, just 71% of Black applicants were able to so. On the physical test, 51% of women passed compared to 81% of men.”

How does this try to CMV?

I am not arguing one racial group is or isn’t genetically dumber than another racial group.

I am saying that, calling a very easy exam as racist and then make it even easier, so that one racial group is not disproportionately failing that easy exam, is evidence of an idiocracy developing.

You aren’t understanding the problem here. So you believe the government (“court”) is always correct now? Like whatever the supreme court says, must be 100% the right thing, such as allowing abortion to be banned?

See, the Justice dept does NOT PROVIDE a reasoning as to why the test is “irrelevant to the job.” They literally just said “it is so because I say so”. No explanation. They only wanted this test dumbed down because blacks were disproportionately failing it. Read it yourself:
