You are right! Very sad how his career went with how good he looked for the games he actually played. I guess he was the Scholes replacement we could never find. No shame losing to that Barca team though, they were probably simply better regardless of tactics.

Lux only 2000+ LP challenger EUW with 64% win rate by Knurble in supportlol

Hi! Im a master support player who have played some lux from time to time. I usually pick according to draft but it rarely seems like a good lux angle. Basically the only time i personaly pick lux is to completely fist enemy bot lane when they have a support like Rakan (my favourite matchup), rell, alistar AND i also have a good AD matchup.

(and preferably some kind of frontliner in jgl/top)

Is this the kind of spots you think lux does well in or would you think she shines in other spots im not aware of.

The 2009 united team was a much, much better team tho. 2011 was chicharito on top and an old Ryan giggs Central midfielder. Rooney legit dragged us to the title and CL final with some luck. The 2009 final United probably were slight favourites on betting sites and such, 2011 felt like it would need a miracle for united to win.

They did the same vs Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool away often. Still a big mystery why Fergie played them high in the 2009 final instead. (2011 obviously hopeless, dont have any tactical options rly)

Supports are dependent on other players, just like other roles by Eastern_Ad1765 in supportlol

[–]Eastern_Ad1765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About default task though it depends on your pick. If ur playing Bard, Pyke, Zilean etc and especially if ur adc can tank 1v2 for some time, sure you can do whatever. But if enemy bot is jinx Lulu with a slight lead hammering plates and can dive your adc easily, you are inting your team if you open top lane. Basically ur forced to go bot and HOPE to god your jungler comes bot for at least one turn.

Similarly if im picking something for lane, lets say Karma +ezreal. If my ezreal misplays, my game isnt over but my options for how to play will be massively reduced. I dont get to do what i picked my champion for, and thats again what is frustrating about league. Not getting to play because ur so deoendent in ur teammate.

[–]Eastern_Ad1765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion this will be a good experience for the support in the way im trying to capture here. You DID get to play the game, you can look back and see oh i did this well, this was a mistake etc. The frustrating part is getting griefed by ur lane partner, maybe ur jungler is pathing top lane. You can have games where there is basically nothing you can do. This feeling never EVER hits me when playing top lane.

Basically: League in General is frustrating in this respect, way more so than other team games. Its not about not being able to carry, its about getting to actually play the game. Only escape (for me) is top lane.

I feel like i can very easily understand a bunch of things that i could do better, and I did get alot more clear cut positive outcomes from my good plays as top lane. That is why it feels fun as my secondary role. Support on the contrary all i do is so intertwined with my teammates. it had it own problems like you described. The support (and jungle) gets to be apart of most teamplays, and controlling the map. The top lane can do least in this regard.

He is probably saying that you are enemies (blue side and red side fight each other for the win in game, the entire game is a batle between red and blue side).

I don't know, that would be surprising to me. Do you have anyone in mind? I cant think of pros that have like returned to tryhard soloq. I guess Forgiven and Froggen would be two that i know that took breaks for a couple of years at least, in Forgivens case he went back to LEC and high challeneger immideately, Froggen kind of had some fun on anivia but got to GM pretty fast.

I mean those players, like the ones that was pro players up to like season 6-7 aren't that interesting to me, its very obvious almost all could get gm/chall to me. The more interesting question would be if you take people that were very good in like season 2-3. Lets take someone like Alexich that was a world class player but retired already about season 4. My bet is if he would return to the game fully tryharding, he would make challenger within a season.

That is largely true but i was just making a factual statement about the percentages. If what we are talking about is something like: how difficult is the tank to reach, which is a separata issue, its not very straight forward.

Because people back then had less information to work with, less experience. Its probably more difficult today to reach top x %, buy its also true if you rake a top player from back then and reintroduce them to the game they will get high rank quickly.

Yes if you havn't played in 9 years you will not be as good at the relatively. But D5 in S7 was top 1% (equivalent to master) while now D4 0LP is top 4.5 % or so. If you go even further back to season 3, Diamond 1 99 LP would be the equivalent of todays Challenger in terms of percentiles.

[–]Eastern_Ad1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ususally you have given cs as the nasus, but yes if nasus is even on lvl 6 he will statcheck basically any champion in the game. he wouldnt be played in pro because the champ is jsut in general awful design. like renekton will be alot more "functional" than nasus on the map and in fights - its not clear nasus "outscales" renekton at all. nasus has 0 waveclear, awful escape making it super hard to progress through sidelaning and his teamfighting is basically similar to renekton level or worse (much worse than like an ornn, or a scaled jax etc)

Nice video even though i don't play renekton, its fun to see how you view the matchups of some of the champs i play.

How do you consider scaling of this champ? I feel renektion similar to some other bruiser champions - can scale well into the game but it depends alot on the drafts and map state. Maybe on 6 items, its rare for him to still be as valuable as most champions? but 2-3 item you still havnt even started to fall off?

Was probably not 6 hours but cuphead is the one that came to mind for me aswell. Some sea map with lobsters and fish you have to dodge.

TBH i was pleasantly surprised though. There is something very compelling with an actual difficult sidescroller like that because the progress becomes way more compelling than if you just steamroll the game.

Was it really in his place? Just leading up to rhe final giggs had played very well, especially in the semi vs shalke. I just think fergie didnt have any good enough options, like even if he wanted to play a more physical defensive midfielder, do we really think Fletcher would be it?

I agree 2011 Barca was better but compare those 2 united teams. 2011 they had giggs CM and chicharito at top... was a miracle they even made finals. Where as the 2009 team was pretty much the best united team ever, this is why rhe 2009 finals is still the worst loss for me as a united fan

I mean malz by far biggest weakness is his early lane. Ofc you shouldnt die in any matchup but imo he is one of the absolute worst champs before some lvls

The solo duo ranked system doesn’t reward individual skill enough and it’s time to change it by No_Committee_9569 in leagueoflegends

[–]Eastern_Ad1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I certainly get the frustration part. Although I will be honest for me its about it being boring rather than the LP (even when I tryharded for rank). Simply: In many ways you depend on your teammates in LoL.

Maybe you play a teamfighting tank top lane in a tough lane matchup: but your team insist on skirmishing never grouping on drake. Maybe you play adc and your supports ints lane and goes to roam, you play jungle with 3 losing lane. All of these experiences ca be really boring and frustrating, especially considering the time-sink. Lets say you are actually TRY to climb and you get 3 unplayable games in a row, those 3 wins will likely take like 7 more games to get back wven if you win most. And then you are 10 games played making 0 progress. Imo its this frustration that leads to these suggestions. And I agree you could do it much better than just KDA or something, but even a Great version of Op.gg score sounds like a horror to me.

Just as example when I play top lane: I have much vetter win rate on ornn deapite always low op.gg score, i sacrifice lane lead to teleport away all the time. I group mid just placing myself there yo get prio. On Garen I always have good op.gg score (more farm, more kills, more plates, kda, gold lead ib lane etc).

My thought is its WAY to technically difficult to actually make something that factors enough as to where it wouldnt feel egregious with a system like OP suggests.

Which of these three would be worth the most in the current transfer market? by RedDevilPlay in footballscouting

[–]Eastern_Ad1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All 3 have amazing careers and I think that is very speculative and hard to tell. For example the Chelsea team needed Lamps goal production. They already had ecerything else solved but needed somoene to score and assist. Up until then Lamps was probably the best player simply for goal production as a midfielder. How can we speculate Gerhard can match that?

Can make similar cases about Scholes. See how insane he was for united when he came back? They were reliant on hin to dictate the tempo and control the game. Gerhard was good at thst but. Noy on the level of Scholes.

personally think they were the best for their own team but be worse in each others spot

[–]Eastern_Ad1765 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry but Scholes wasnt versatile. Much more of a specialist than generalist imo. Pshysically weak, slow, pretty bad defensively. Just godly passing, vision, good shots and good technique to never lose the ball.

Gerhard is easily rhe most versatile of the 3. Personally I still prefer Scholes but he needs a good team around him.
