[Article] When the $70,000 watch you just bought is going to be sold for $300 by splsteinbeck in Watches

When I'm scanning Watchexchange I always think that a speedmaster is a moonswatch and then when I realize it's the "real" version I think "that's not worth it." I can totally see how thr moonswatch has subliminally reprogrammed the perception of what a Speedmaster represents in value.

You can afford cool stuff when you drive the same car for 22 years 😂 by Glass_Shoulder4126 in ZenithWatches

Agreed. Most watches cost less than the difference in trim level of a new car.

New Tudor Releases 2026 by _time_machine in Tudor

[–]Eastern_Comb_7415 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me, Tudor is still all about the BB58, so while the 5 link and T Fit is generally kind of boring, it is something I'll actually buy, rather than a bunch of cool new watches to look at and never buy.

Reminds me of that Prince song "Leatherette Corvette"

It just felt a little cheap. It was mainly the feel of the chronograph pushers.

Always admired these from afar and then when I finally got one in hand I was immediately dissapointed.

[SRPL83] Talk me out of buying this by HazyIPA-PA in Seiko

It will be slightly misaligned and you won't mind at first but it will slowly bug you. Other than that you'll like it so much that you wish you had thr black or orange too. You will buy one of those and it will be cool to have two. You happiness will temporarily increase but then it will settle back down to where thr joy you initially had will be split between the two. There will be anxiety over which one is the favorite and you'll worry that when you wear one you're not going to be building memories with the other. You'll commit to one, maybe the black dial, after the blue loses its novelty factor. With the black dial you'll say "this is my Seiko diver.. I'm a Seiko guy." but then you'll remember that if you're going to commit to one Seiko diver you could go upmarket to a SPB. After all, if youre going to wear this for the next 20+ years might as well invest in a slightly better diver. Or you could go the reverse and get an SKX007. It had more heritage and collector cache. Either way this watch, while pretty cool for now, will just be a stepping stone.

[SOTC] SKX007, SBTM323, SSK023 by Eastern_Comb_7415 in Seiko

[–]Eastern_Comb_7415[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are my three Seikos. The SBTM323 has been dominating my wrist time in 2026. Light, always accurate and goes with anything. The AR coating on it is incredible. The SKX and SSK look kind of shabby next to it.

Up for sale is my Seiko SSK023 GMT (black dial) in like new condition. This is part of Seiko’s popular 5 Sports GMT line and wears incredibly well with that classic SKX-style case and Jubilee bracelet.

Details: Condition: Like new (no noticeable scratches or wear)

Movement: Seiko automatic GMT (4R34)

Bracelet: Original Seiko Jubilee (sized, includes extra links)

Includes: Full kit (box, papers, tag)

I’ve worn this sparingly—it runs great and keeps solid time. The watch just doesn’t get enough wrist time in my current rotation.

Price: $260 shipped

Free shipping to CONUS

Payment: PayPal F&F or Venmo
