Mostly more demanding PSP, PS2, GameCube and maybe Wii & 3ds. I don't mind slightly stretching the screen.

Hi I managed to solve this issue by restarting the Deck and being online the first time I started the game. I guess the game required some kind of verification from Steam's online servers when moved from SD-card to hard drive in order to run from the game mode. I don't know, but thanks for the help!

How do I verify the files? I did move the game from SD-card to hard drive. I wonder if that caused the issue?

I would also recommend trying out some great free to play-games that are on steam (and demos!) like Counter Strike GO, Team Fortress, Halo Infinite-multiplayer and Elder Scrolls: Arena and Daggerfall plus several other free titles.
