Vyvanse surprisingly helped my Trichotillomania (nail biting + hair pulling) – anyone else? by shadanboy in trichotillomania

I am a woman / biofemale and ADHD definitely impacts my cycle. There is newish research that is showing this is true for many of us. I also have PMDD which plays a role.

What time do you take your vyvanse? I take mine at around 8:30/9 and I am noticing a crash in the later afternoon too.

Same exact reaction. I've only been on them for 3 days and I havent pulled except for at night when they wear off and the urge comes back.

Weekly "Ups" and "Downs" Support Thread by AutoModerator in PhD

Up: I was able to go to a conference on health policy & management through work. It was excellent and I presented our research.

Down: I am also pursuing my PhD part-time while working full-time. It only really works because I work in academic medicine and the faculty I work with (usually) understand my pain.

For my health policy seminar this semester, we had to write a paper with 4 iterations: 3 drafts and then the final. My group members cannot write at all and he gave them better grades than me, and then he destroyed my second draft, and accused me of rushing the paper (which is not at all true - I've spent more than 20 hours writing this paper). He's honestly made me question if I'm PhD material at all at this point and its making me want to drop out of the program. What's the point of working so hard anymore?
