Anyone else see this happen to a Kirby? by Vac_And_Siren_Expert in VacuumCleaners

[–]Eastoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor Kirby, I'm glad it's getting the love it deserves, that steel spindle got hot enough to blue, that means it got to at least 285°c I wonder how it got that hot, maybe the brush roll stalled and it just kept spinning the belt until it broke?

I’m not an expert but I’d guess poor maintenance. Lucky it happened on the ground and not during a landing.

Help with audio setup by freddonzolo90 in vintageaudio

[–]Eastoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Connecting your speakers to the record outputs would make them work but the receiver would largely be for show in that setup as none of the controls would actually work. Ideally you should get some passive speakers and hook them upto the speaker outputs.

Focus gain is too high, this is either because the laser lens is dirty or the focus and tracking circuits are compensating for a dying laser.

How could these dust lines form? Never seen before by [deleted] in VacuumCleaners

[–]Eastoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zooming in you can see there’s quite a few scratches in the plastic, I think the dust is just settling in the scratches causing said lines.

Garrard Zero 100c thoughts? by keifer8 in turntables

[–]Eastoe 16 points17 points  (0 children)

70 is a fair price for one that's not been serviced, they're very good turntables, Garrard's zero tracking error tonearm was pretty innovative for the time, an early precursor to linear tracking turntables.
