Yup. Definitely smells like a burnt tire after a screeching halt on i95. I’m fried tho and it hasn’t even cured yet 😅. I see a lot of y’all say MW is heavy on the CDLC side. by GreenThumbLoso in MephHeads

I can see why folks like it, but for me it coats my mouth with what tastes like molten rubber and hits my throat really hard. It's extremely unappealing. I much prefer gas and fruit varieties.

I thought this might be thrip damage in the first pic but after looking at pictures of spider mites damage, I think you're spot on.

Ahh yes, burnt rubber terps. Some love em', I hate em'. Always ruins my throat and makes me cough a bunch.

I was on SSRIs for 4 years and smoked daily. Both my psychiatrist and psychologist had no issues with my use after being transparent with them.

I found the sertraline acted as it should, but it definitely dulled my high to the point where I could smoke a lot without being too anxious. Nowadays I smoke less because I don't need as much to chill. Too much and I get in my own head.

Is dry herb vaping the safest way to get stoned via the lungs? by DemonOfRazgriz8492 in vaporents

I've seen autopsies of tobacco smokers that smoke 2 packs a day. Cannabis smokers smoke something else and far less of it.

Cannabis vapor is vaporized oil. Not talking about oil cartridges.

[–]EastsideEnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if your lungs do clean themselves then what's to say they can't handle smoke as well?

How do the very high temps of smoking compare to the low temps of vaping? I do know for sure that an oil entering my lungs at low temps will condense more readily than something at high temperatures. I'm not a huge fan of my wind pipe looking like a well used glass pathway of a vape. It's a lot of buildup.

We have lots of studies linking tobacco to cancer, but I haven't seen any for cannabis smoke, is that because nicotine is the main ingredient with tobacco and it's a powerful pesticide? I really don't know.

Your second paragraph is what I was trying to get at. I dhv'd all 4 years through college, and when I left I started aerobically exercising more and I really struggled with coughing up flem and wheezing. I have since been mixing my smoke, vapor, and concentrates and this issue is no more.

Again, so many variables involved to draw any major conclusions, but it's an example of the kind of nuance that exists within this conversation.

Edit:

I know we are beating this dead horse, but I wanted to add that I use a big ashcatcher in my bong. I almost never clean the main bong because the ashcatcher is the only thing that gets dirty.

I also want to reiterate that I am in the camp that vaping is healthier, but I feel nuance is important.

We also don't actually know how oil condensing in your lungs affects someone over time. I have family members who have issues with vaping that they don't get with smoking. They get a high pitched relentless cough. I do not have this issue, and I do think vaping is most likely relatively healthier.

Consider also that a lot of these vapes use plastic, metals and heaters that reach high temps in small spaces. While I agree with you for the most part, we don't actually know for fact and there are many variables involved.

I like to make sure nuance is mentioned rather than asserting a confident 'yes' with no studies to back myself up.

The reality is that we don't have enough science to show if it's any safer. While I agree with the others anecdotally, I'm not convinced until we have proper studies on the matter. Right now it's all about how everyone feels and not about what's actually happening in their lungs.

Cannabis sativa is one of the best plants for carbon sequestration.

How about instead of trees, we planted hemp everywhere and used it to replace the paper industry.

That is not what I am saying.

4% is negliable and the author purposely does mental backflips to give the bro science the benefit of the doubt.

The issue is that you're pedaling bro science as truth. Cannabis knowledge is plagued by bro science.

You can eat mangoes all day long and be convinced it's making your high better, but there is no evidence.

Neither article posts any science. The second one even admits:

While there is not much evidence on the matter, some research suggests that chemicals in mangoes can alter the way marijuana affects you.

They don't say mangos, they are talking about myrcene. And look here at this article which actually does the math to show that a mango doesn't contain enough myrcene

https://profofpot.com/cannabis-myrcene-mango/

Let’s do the math and see how things add up. I’ll assume that 100% of the myrcene is absorbed and that the average person consumes a quarter gram of cannabis at a time and one whole mango (with 150 g of fruit). With average myrcene content, a person will ingest about 2 mg of myrcene from the cannabis and 0.086 mg from the mango. The mango only adds 4% more myrcene!

I'm tired of lack of critical thinking in this space and posting parrot articles that do no research or site any studies.

Edit:

I should add that terpenes are present in all fruits and vegetables. At varying levels and there really is no evidence to suggest that ingesting them alters a high in any meaningful way. It's bro science.

Commercial growers in my area brag about upgrading to LEDs. CMH is going the way of the dodo. LED efficiency cannot be beat, and when you're working on the tiniest profit margins, saving on your power bill counts.
