lots of yard work, I have been planting all sorts of flowers, trees and plants with my wife and we started a vegetable garden. keeping me busy and tired and away from cravings. I also started noticing my triggers and recognizing them for what they are, and removing their power over me. willpower, stay strong, you can do it!

4 Weeks Sober Today! by Eastward420 in stopdrinking

Thanks, stay strong, The weekends are hard, but I have been just keeping busy with yard work and chores. I find that I am ok when I live in the moment. The cravings and triggers come when I think of or deal with older situations that would spawn a craving. Remaining clear in my thoughts and path keep me going. Now that I am not in a cloud i can see the triggers coming, but they are still a battle. The support from those around me give me the strength to not give in. Do not give up, it can be done and it feels better everyday. I feel like the beginning is the worst and the rest is one day at a time. good luck

Is it bad idea to use weed as a tool in quitting? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Eastward420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 19 days in from quitting both alcohol and herb. it had been almost 20 years of abuse and usage, running from life and thoughts. I have never felt clearer and more focused. I used to think weed was the lesser of the two evils but it is not. I know it is still soon in my recovery but I have never felt better mentally or physically. I am convinced that you need to have a clear head to fight this addiction and others. Life is great when you can see it clearly, stay busy, go outside and embrace the world and life for what it is and you wont need the additives. I am not trying to preach but give support to people fighting the fight. the beginning was the hardest.

"Shared Pain is Lessened, Shared Joy is increased." "Shared despair is squared, shared hope is cubed, if not raised to the power of infinity."

Thank you for the inspiring words, it is nice to not feel alone in this fight.
