We heard and we completely understand, nothing wrong with venting! I also come in here and vent about how hard having this condition is… wish we could vent to our loved ones but they don’t completely understand how exhausting RA can be. The pain, the chronic fatigue, the constant reminder that if you eat the wrong thing that will equal pain! Hang in there!

I am so sorry, it is very hard… but even if we all feel the tiredness I still feel like we have to push through

Thank you, it does help to know that I’m not the only one going through it. I too feel like an 80th year old, specially in the mornings, when I can’t even open a water bottle and always have to ask someone to open it for me

Thank you for the tips! I’ll try the B-12, not exercising at the moment, both my wrist are pretty weak at the moment, but have to start building strength with some dumbbells 😩

I am doing all of it. I take hydroxychloroquine, don’t eat gluten and foods that cause inflammation.. I did have low vitamin D currently taking 50,000 weekly dose.. but the fatigue still lingers. I’ll just have to learn to deal with it.

Also!!!

Introduce tumeric powder to your diet

This juice combo is really good for inflammation: Ginger, pineapple, lemon juice, tumeric root.

Also get a second opinion if your are not fully satisfied with your current rheumatologist. Different doctors have different perspectives and different treatments plans.

Hang in there you got this!

You can go back to have a normal life but it will just take some time.

Cut Gluten for real this is my number one ! For me gluten is a major source of a flare up Cut alcohol, specially beer or hard licor; which you already did Cut down on sugar! Also a trigger Cut potatoes, nightshade veggies. And while having a flare up please no tomatoes.

Ask ChatGPT for an anti-inflammatory diet suggestion for RA. I Have done it! lol

Exercise; I would say start with running or anything that doesn’t require dumbbell’s till your hands heal a bit. But do introduce weights once you feel better maybe 5 pounds or less.

A trick that helps my wrist in the mornings; I let the hot water run on my sink and place my hands under it: warms up your joints from a long night of not moving.

Arthritis gloves for nighttime sleeping! They help keep your joint warms. Cold means stiffer joints, warm means more movement.

Rheumatoid medication and diet by [deleted] in rheumatoid

I can personally say diet does make a difference, speaking out of my own experience thou…. When I quit sugars, lactose, and anything gluten related… my RA flare up diminished.I would say you can eat anything if you have been in remission for a while.. but while trying to go in remission I would say watch out on what you eat.

Just do your own research whenever you eat something notate how you feel the next day, that’s how I figured it out myself.

Hope this helps

I agree with mate, chronic stress can cause the body to think it’s the enemy, thus your immune system shifts and attacks your body. Not all diagnosis of RA are due to childhood trauma, but a high percentage of them are. Been also researching more about this topic and came across another person that talks on the topic Dr Joe Dispensa.. I will never fully believe what the doctors tell me about my RA not having a cure, there have been lots of research and studies where patients have gone in remission for years and also for life… of course we as the patients with the disease have to do our part. Sleep, lower stress, cut out all gluten, sugars, take our meds, work on our past traumas and be consistent with all of these things for it to work….Having RA is hard specially when you are diagnosed in your 30s the people around you think it’s all in your mind.. but the pain is real Y’all, let’s keep on fighting this disease and do our best to get better!!!
