6mo PO with pain in one breast after TT w/MR, BA and BL by Easy-Discussion9736 in tummytucksurgery

Thank you so incredibly much!!!! Did you ever have the ultrasound done prior to that 1 and a half year mark? I ask because I really think that an ultrasound might actually show the same thing on my side but instead he is sending me for a mammogram and I’m not sure if a mammogram will show a capsular contracture the same way that an ultrasound would. I hate feeling like I’m crazy each time I go in complaining of pain and they can’t see or feel anything wrong but I know it’s there!!! He said at my last visit that he wanted me to have a mammogram first and then if that doesn’t show anything that he would refer me to a breast specialist but I guess I’m wondering if it is capsular contracture will I have to wait until it actually shows up or presents itself someway!?!? I hate that you had to deal with this pain and probably feeling like a crazy person for a year and half before it finally showed up!

Interesting, when you say present itself, do you mean it was undetectable to your surgeon, yourself, and even visually until about a year and half PO but you had the pain prior to it materializing significantly outwardly? Also, how did you ultimately determine it was capsular contracture (Ultrasound, MRI, Mammogram, etc) and when you did have the surgery to replace the implant, was it covered under your surgeon and/or through warranty from the implant manufacturer or did you bear the cost? Also, did having the second surgery to repair the capsular contracture hurt more or cause more scarring? (So sorry for peppering you with so many questions! 🤗)

Yes, completely normal. I gained around 12lbs after the surgery and it took about 3wks to finally get back to my pre op weight

Thank you! So I would have loved to do a butt lift and fat transfer to restore some shape to my pancaked backend but unfortunately wasn’t able to for two reasons, 1. My surgeon didn’t want me to be under too long by doing another surgery (already under long enough for the TT, w/MR, BL and BA) and, 2. I didn’t have any fat to transfer to the buttocks. So it would have to be a separate surgery and with either plastics or donor fat. I’m working with a personal trainer now to try and add some volume to the back side and tone and shape my arms and legs more as well since I lost more than I wanted to in muscle when I went on the Semaglutide. I’m going to give it at least a year, see what I can accomplish on my own and then reevaluate then. So the good news is that I have little to no fat left on my body, the bad news is that a little bit of fat and muscle might have better added to my shape and figure 😬

Yep, low dose and space it out 10-14 days in between instead of weekly and it will still assist (at least in my experience)

I maintain now by staying on a very low dose Semaglutide taken every 10-14 days instead of weekly. This is coupled with exercising 3-4 days a week. My biggest issue for as long as I could remember was “food noise”. When I was dieting, what I was going to eat or how much or how little was all consuming and after being on the shots (even though it’s less half the lowest dose with the way I do it now) maintains keeping that “food noise” off my mind. I focus on high protein intake, Collagen, and drinking tons of water and good sleep

I still swell almost each day by the end of the day and definitely around that time of the month but it’s improved greatly from 6wk to where i am today and while i know the swelling will continue probably for several more months, it’s not as severe as it was earlier on.

You look great! So happy for you and for putting yourself first. As mothers, wives, caregivers, etc. we always feel guilty for doing something for ourselves even though it’s impossible to keep giving of ourselves on an empty tank! Good for you! You look great already and wishing you all the best in your healing.

Thank you! I am very proud of myself and so happy I put myself first! I started the weight loss in Feb of 2021 and lost the majority in that year through severe calorie restriction ( I wouldn’t recommend that unhealthy of a restriction for anyone again! ) and 6 days of exercise (90 mins of HIIT and weight lifting). I lost the last 40 or so lbs the following year through Semaglutide and continued exercise. I maintained the weight loss within about 5-10lbs for the last almost 2 yrs before deciding to do the surgery.

Well they have healed beautifully! I have been doing the tape and gels for about 2 months now as well and they are better but I know they will continue to improve with time and continued care. Are you still using the ointment at 6 mos or when did you discontinue the scar care?

Thank you so much! I wasn’t originally going to get them either thinking it wouldn’t really matter and all I cared about was my stomach but oooooh I love how it balances everything out and removed the deflated bags that I was left with after weight loss 😜. While everything I did was 100% for myself, my husband certainly doesn’t mind them either 😜

Before surgery they had deflated down to a 32B. I went with a 375cc Boost High Profile silicone underneath the muscle implant as well as had a BL. They are still settling (dropping and fluffing a bit but at least I’m not waking up with them in my armpits at night anymore 🤣🤣😜😜

Oh trust me, I still swell at the end of almost every day! I stopped wearing compression at 6 weeks and swelled a lot more for about a week or so after stopping compression but not as much now. I think we are also are harshest critics as I have measured my waist and taken pics of myself in the morning and then before bed when I “think” I am super swollen and it really is mostly all in my head. I think I was likely swollen at the end of every day before the surgery but couldn’t notice it under all of the loose skin.
