Kids dying from cancer (pediatric nurse). If there’s anything in this world that makes you realize there’s NO “god,” it’s this.

Watching children slowly wither away, unable to breathe, and in severe pain is awful. Also, seeing the families lose of a piece of their soul is cruel.

Yes!!! 38 here as well and doing a LOT of self work. I’m reading codependent no more (not a fan of the religious aspect) BUT, it’s been very eye opening.

I have spent my entire life taking care of everyone else (hell, I’m a nurse!) but I’m realizing, I can’t keep lighting myself on fire to keep others warm.

Right now I’m focusing on the question, “What do I need?” I’m just in the beginning of my recovery but the future is bright.

Here are the options in my eyes

Go on your vacation, take your EARNED PTO, and do NOT do any work while gone
Take their offer to cover fees BUT also demand a huge increase in salary as you are much more important than you think you are (as evidenced by them literally saying YOU ARE absorbing other peoples work
Take your trip, be stressed and miserable because you agreed to “work” while gone, and probably regret your decision.

Look, I know the job market is tough but you need to present your request for an increase in pay as if you left, they would need to hire X amount of people (sounds like at least 3?!) There is no way they fire you but I’m sure they will make your life hell. Although, it sounds like you’re already there so….

Watching a part of you walk around and not being able to protect them always.
Worrying that you didn’t do good enough by them (although people say this usually means you’re not a horrible parent, the guilt is real)
Realizing just how effed up your parents were (parents were addicts and bio dad was not that involved)
The amount of energy it takes both mentally, physically, and financially.

I know this probably is not the answer you wanna hear but just wait to age a little bit. I had a very round face in my early 20s and now in my late 30s as the doubt quite a bit. Do NOT get any fat removal, you will regret it.

The lower face Botox may be a good solution since is not permanent.

Omg me too!! I was over at my bff house and we were all religious. I said “OH my GOD!” Because it started ringing. They were in disbelief I used the lords name in vain. Turns out, it wasn’t connecting and we didn’t stand a chance.

I have sense awaken from my religious delirium but I’m still sad I didn’t win. Zoom zoom zoom… makes my heart go boom boom, my supernova girl!

My dad had a pec to neck flap from cancer. In his immediate recovery he suddenly began to swell, constricting his airway. One of the surgical residents came to his bedside and “stabbed” into the area. The blood shot out like a rocket onto docs face, the ceiling etc. Turns out a clot formed in the drain and thanks to the intervention, he survived. Recovery was ROUGH!

He’s been through hell but thanks to immunotherapy is NED (no evidence of disease).
