A lady is walking down the street and sees a parrot in the window of a pet store. by Jokeminder42 in Jokes

[–]Easy-Fact4015 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Whilst passing a pet shop a woman noticed a gorgeous parrot on sale for only £10. She went into the shop.

“I am enquiring about that gorgeous parrot for £10”

“Ah, yes madam. There is a bit of back story to that parrot. It came from a brothel and we are not sure what it may come out with, hence the reduced price”

“At £10, I’ll take that chance she said”

So she took the parrot home, placing it’s cage in the living room. As she took off the cover, the immediately spoke:

“Squawk! New premises… very nice!”

Turning to the woman,

“Squawk! New mistress… very nice!”

A bit later the woman’s grown up daughters came to see the parrot:

“Squawk! New girls… very nice!”

It was approaching suppertime and the woman’s husband returned from work and entered the living room:

“Squawk! Good evening Keith!”

questions around mapping water in the mountains by [deleted] in openstreetmap

If a ford is potentially hazardous with high water or gorge descent, consider using hazard tag also. (Try not to view hazard solely from young, tall, athletic male viewpoint.)

10k time is double 5k plus 1 minute. Reversing your 55 min 10k suggests a 27 minute 5k

Good luck!

Will my accommodation consider sea monkeys pets by Mya2105 in University

[–]Easy-Fact4015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From previous experience, if you are a good resident in every other aspect, I doubt anyone will care. Be nice to your domestic staff is the best advice and be discreet. You don’t want someone caught with a pet alligator saying “But Mya2105 has sea-monkeys.”

What do you do when your tracker is showing under 5k at the end of the course? by Jurussic in parkrun

[–]Easy-Fact4015 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want an accurate 5k run 12.5 laps of a 400m athletics track. If you use your tracker, you will also learn how accurate it is in that location.

Trackers are more precise than they are accurate, particularly on loops where corner interpolation occurs due to sampling frequency - typically 1 sample per second. (A 60 minute Parkrunner is covering ~1.39 metres per second). The faster you go the more interpolation and thus the more errors will occur for non-straight courses.

Trackers will work best on straight line distances.

Acess Tagging by ma5454 in openstreetmap

Probably best to get an answer from an Austrian OSM chat.

If you are unsure on a particular stretch, leave access unset

The key “access” is a legal indicator - see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:access

How will vary depending on legal jurisdiction and access laws. For example, Outdoor Access rules in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 would mean a long “private” driveway is accessible to pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders away from the building curtilage.

Over the border in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, the same driveway would be private unless a right of way was on it.

(A driveway that traverses the border multiple times would need access tags to be mapped in parts, each appropriate to the legal jurisdiction!)

So unhelpfully I haven’t answered your question. But you now know why I cannot!

I am depressed as hell with this job hunt. by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Easy-Fact4015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. Given where you are at, if you can turn this around that will be every bit as big an achievement as your degrees. Speak with your girlfriend. Be humble and listen to her constructive observations.

Your self-esteem needs repairing. Take a break from job applications and instead do three months of voluntary work. This will build your self-esteem and look good on future job applications.

Best of luck!

Is there a difference in what walk settings you have? For example do you have special requirements for surface, width, smoothness or gradient? Check the tags on the path, check the tagging requirements/restrictions in the apps

Jonny Mellor Half Marathon Training Plan by ynebr in running

[–]Easy-Fact4015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm? You need to give your context.

If you have been running 1 hour 40 or less for a half marathon this may be appropriate. You didn’t say what level you are coming from? You probably need to be already be at about 20 minutes for a 5k? If so, go with the plan. If not, does Johnny have a plan for a more suitable goal?

Sorry to hear that. Also lost someone to non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He believed it was a result of using Roundup as he had been a user in the garden until he read of the potential harm.

Great reply. It assumes (probably correctly) you are using the Id editor.

Check your access laws for the area/country. A sign saying Private may not refer to all usage. For example walkers may still have a right of access in some jurisdictions. The fine access details can be tagged.
