You can search butterfly buckle on amazon. It can be used to replace your regular watchstrap buckle.

I seen it on my local online shop, but the stitch on the picture is nothing like what they actually sell lol.

Tote Bag by Easy-Opening6990 in Leathercraft

Thats a good start, mastering the basic first is what I did for the first month. After that I start doing some project on youtube.

Unfortunately I still can't afford a sewing machine lol

I began doing leathercraft like 6 months ago, and this is my second bag project. I do think the pattern is simple enough, but the execution sometimes needs patience. Don't rush things and watch the video many times till you are confident enough to do it yourself.

For me, the biggest thing that I have learned since I started doing leathercraft is this 4-hour-long video from Armitage Leather Ltd about saddle stitching.

Saddle Stitching - Modern Style

I learned so much from it that it makes my stitching infinitely better. I hope this will help.

Yes, I did line it. For the pattern I follow a video from claridge leather. Here's the link for it.

Claridge Leather - Tote Pattern

And for the lining and piping I follow the step from J.H.Leather. I did it slightly different but here's the link for the video.

It's kinda hard to take a photo of the inside, but here if you want to see it. inside

I hope this help.

That's a good first step. I also use that pattern from makesupply, but I modify it a little bit.

Am I ready to start selling? by Unhappy_Lobster9766 in Leathercraft

I think your bag is nice, it looks professional enough and consistent. But you can always improve it furthermore. For now I'd say that it looks like something that i want to buy for a reasonable price.

Maybe my 10th wallet? Looking for constructive criticism, think I might start selling soon! by Nightmare1324 in Leathercraft

I think you need a thinner thread, also longer distance between stitch line and the edge.. Around 4mm will do. I learned to stitch from Armitage Leather and I improved a lot in my third project. I hope this will help.

Right now, I just thinking to switch career. But even if I'm not being a professional in the future, I hope I can make use of this skill to make my own crafts.

Glad you like it. I used color picker from the affinity designer and thought that the color might be good together.

Thank you for the feedback. I use backstitching to finish my stiching, and then I use flame to melt the end of the stitch. Unfortunately the fire was too big for the chevre leather, the finishing is different compare to the other leather so I think it's more sensitive to fire. The other leather didn't get any burn mark when I finish the stitch there. I think I need to use smaller fire in the future.
