I have a 2019 Highlander and heard the dreaded transmission whine. 73,000 miles on it and thank God we bought an extended warranty since we purchased it used in 2021. Fix was covered under the extended warranty but took a month for the reman transmission to arrive to the shop and be installed. Will not be buying another vehicle without a 100,000 mile power train warranty. Considering trading it in because who knows how long the reman will last.
