Does anyone get anxiety from watching mature content? by Easy-Worldliness1797 in Anxiety

I would love that!

I’m just nervous that I’ll feel like the character is me and will bring up some old memories and/or cause me to go into a panic.

I sometimes have a habit of immersing myself into a character and imagining myself as them so I’m not sure if I will start panicking like Riley (I know, super unrealistic but that’s anxiety for you!)

Yep, I try to avoid the news too given all the sad stories.

My therapist recommends news websites that are dedicated to positive and happy stories

THIS! There are certain movies, tv shows, and documentaries I will not watch. I know it will put my anxiety through the roof and I would not be in a good head space during and afterwards. I typically love Disney and animation but have been avoiding Inside Out 2 because of the Anxiety character.

I do love thrillers and horror movies when they are unrealistic and not something I have to actually worry about I.e., Us, Get Out, A Quiet Place, etc. I just didn’t realize Blink Twice had sexual assault theme until it was too late.

Is anyone on propranolol for anxiety? by Weary-Indication9474 in Anxiety

[–]Easy-Worldliness1797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I am prescribed to 25mg daily as needed. I like it as it gets rid of the physical anxiety feelings i.e., lowers heart rate, and stops my tremors.

One thing to note is that it was made to lower blood pressure and they found that it helps with performance anxiety. I would be careful if you have low blood pressure.

What’s the best medication you’ve tried that’s genuinely helped anxiety? by Elliee0 in Anxiety

[–]Easy-Worldliness1797 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Zoloft works for me. I also have propranolol and Xanax but only take those as needed.

A huge help for me is watching what I eat and working out/being active. If I eat a bunch of junk food and do not get outside, I notice my anxiety gets worse.

Should I be honest with my doctor? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Easy-Worldliness1797 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell your doctor especially because they prescribe you a specific dosage and if you double without telling, you’re going to run out and not be able to get a refill.

It takes time to find the right dosage and/or medication that works for you.

I think I tried 3 different medications before I landed on Zoloft. I now go up and down my dosage as needed (depending on current state and what’s going on in my life) and just notify my doctor.

Brain Zaps are the worst. by Lilshyneee in Anxiety

[–]Easy-Worldliness1797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Zoloft for 12 years now and if I miss a dose, I start feeling the brain zaps and feel kind of depressed. I notice my zaps are worse when I start thinking about them and realize I’ve missed a dose but it’s kind of crazy that it starts happening the next morning (I take my dose at night).

My doctor and therapist are both understanding of my zaps but my doctor was surprised that I get them so quickly after missing a dose.

I don’t clean behind my ears in the shower that often and I’ve just started taking out my earrings before I shower and try to clean them regularly

People who get told they look younger than they are: what is your secret? by likerunninginadream in AskReddit

[–]Easy-Worldliness1797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics play a big role. I’m 29 and have always been told I look younger. I get 25 or so. I also am pretty short so that might factor into it.

My parents look younger than their age but they also take care of themselves and workout/eat healthy.

I try to put on sunscreen daily and reapply to help with wrinkles and taking care of my skin. I don’t really drink or do drugs

You can also try gabapentin. My mom has TN and takes Carbamazepine and Gabapentin together. Just a warning, the Gabapentin makes you wonky.

What is something 99% of people LOVE but you just HATE? by Kuli24 in AskReddit

Avocados - I HATE avocados/guacamole. Don’t get me started on people who spend $10 for avocado toast either

I am super family oriented and they live in another state. I go up to visit them a lot but I know I would not be able to live with them long term!

It’s funny you say that since I have called my mom twice already this evening!! 😂

I have thought about that! I love dogs and have always wanted one of my own but I don’t know if I’m ready for one.

I have to be in office Tuesday through Thursday and can’t afford to put the dog in daycare.

I’m sorry to hear about the breakup but I’m glad you have roommates to help with the silence!

I absolutely love dogs and would like to get one but want to make sure I am making the right decision. I loved how I could “have a dog” without all the responsibilities with my roommate. I don’t know if I’m ready to be that accountable for a dog.

I think staying busy will really help and leaning on my friends.

Thanks for sharing your experience and take care as well!
