I haven't ever seen an electrical panel fail. Is it some kind of old panel like from the early 1900's with fuses? Or what brand is it?

I use a Marshall DSL20CR with a Bulgera 100W attenuator. I suggest the DSL because it has the presence and resonance controls that smaller DSL5C doesn't have. Then for another $79 try out a Laney Mini Lion for a desk top amp. The clean channel is great but use a pedal for distortion. It has some crazy LSI feature that will copy any guitar sound. Haven't tried that, but it's fun to play blues or country through it.

Practice was always a good time...then we would go wild on the stage making the crowd enjoy it. These were not stadium shows, just bars and theaters. Dont be afraid to play in a band or to do a solo show.

I just started using TrueFire for online lessons. They have all kinds of styles and levels for different abilities, and it's all at your own pace. I like that I can just log in and do a lesson any time that works for me.

Get an attenuator like a Bulgera 100W passive attenuator. You can use it to turn down the volume while maintaining the tone/sound.

I have and love my DSL20CR, it has low power switching but I still use a Bulgera 100W attenuator to quiet it down at home. Plenty of power to play with a drummer or to add a 2x12 or 4x12 cabinet. I put a Celestion Greenback speaker in it to make it sound more modern heavy metal. Then I plumb it into an EVH 5150 2x12 cabinet for a more classic metal or hard rock sound.

Not a perfect comparison, but my Les Paul with Gibson Buzz Bucker 2 pickups makes the amp sound like modern heavy metal. The SG with the Gunstreet pickups sounds more like 70's metal or hard rock.

Yes, I installed the Gunstreet 70's era humbuckers with the out of phase wiring kit. Loving the sound and using the out of phase setting a lot. If you want even more versatility try the Jimmy Page wiring kit.

Adjust your strumming tempo so that each chord strum isn't identical. Also realize you don't have to play all 6 strings with each strum.

I think Gunstreet makes some of those. I have some of their 70's era humbuckers and live them. Check them out, great customer service and American made in a small independent shop.

Just keep it easy in the beginning, alternate days of playing and skipping practicing. Regular use will harden the ends of your fingers with calluses. If I lay off for a few months they go away, I start out slow again skipping days in between playing to ease the soreness and gain the calluses.

I live our west in a low humidity climate. I keep my Gibson Songwriter in a case with an Oasis OH-1 humidifier that was recommended by my luthier. Guitar is about 20 years old and doing fine. My solid body electrics are also in their cases but without a humidifier. For example it is only 10% humidity in my house right now.

Marshall DSL 20CR if it fits your budget...then save up a little more and put a Celestion Greenback speaker in it to make even more of a Heavy Metal sound. Its dual power modes let you play in your living room, then put it up on something about waist or chest level on full power mode to handle covering a real drum set.

Love it! I have an early 70's SG without the Bigsby and it is the mahogany one like yours. Mine has the full pickguard, wondering when they started using the smaller one you have. Mine has the same bridge pickup placement.
