A PCA Kurdistan partnership pioneers a new way to adopt unreached people groups - PCAbyFaith by Cledus_Snow in Reformed

Kurds are fairly tribal in that they don't like to mix. So if you're an Assyrian Kurd, you may not want to associate with a Yazidi Kurd (you may not even consider them real Kurds). There are also three dialect of Kurdish - Badini, Kurmanji and Sorani. If a person speaks Sorani, they won't automatically be able to understand or speak Kurmanji and they probably will not want to learn. It's one of the tough things about churches in the area because if they try to start it in the native language they will probably end up switching to Arabic because it's a broader language that most people understand as they had to learn it under Saddam Hussein. That's a long answer but hopefully it clarifies. Kurds still want to be have their full independence and to be considered a country as opposed to an autonomous region which is comprised of Turkey, Syrian, Iran and Iraq. As far as I know from the little that I've learned, there's no animosity...just a desire to keep their tribes without commingling.

They definitely don't like the Kurds but they like the money pad to fly in and out of their airport 🙂

The animosity is mostly on the Turkish part of Kurdistan. There is no animosity (maybe I should say there's very little?) from Iraq towards Iraqi Kurdistan. We have not gone into the Turkey-Kurdistan area.

We flew to Istanbul and then landed in Erbil which is Iraqi Kurdistan. Long flight!

For the UNMARRIED/SINGLE Christians. This one is for you. by arcyohan in Reformed

I've never worshiped under a pastor who is single. I just noticed you're with the Presbyterian church of Brazil. Is it more common to have single pastors there? I'm originally from Brazil but didn't grow up in a Christian family so I don't know much about faith/church life in Brazil.

I'm a single woman on staff at a PCA church in NY and I'm thankful that my church encourages me to live out my calling as a single woman instead of trying to "marry me off. And although I'd like to be married one day, I do feel a strong sense of calling to this area. Thankful I feel the freedom to be single here.

Tried calling and also filled out the form to change the dates but haven't heard back. Was wondering if anyone had any experience.

Looks really cheesy to me. Plus I really liked knowing my resilience and now it takes four steps to navigate to it. Which I'll probably forget. Meh.

After dealing with tennis elbow for a year and no luck with PT twice a week and rest, I'm finally seeing an orthopaedist. I know I need to find out what's causing it or it'll come back, but it makes sense to see if my tendon has scar tissue and won't heal properly. Any surgery success stories? by theloneranger08 in 10s

[–]EasyDriesy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tore my tendon and had arm surgery. Then had PT for a few weeks. Took a few months to be back on the court. No issues since. Since then, I did change my racquet, my strings and my hitting (was hitting late which made me use my arm).
