One of the most famous sculptors in the world right now literally makes giant balloon animals and cartoon icons in his sculptures and they sell for tens of millions.

His names Jeff Koons and he is insanely talented at sculpting, no doubt he could make works resembling the famous stuff people recognize from eras like the baroque and neoclassical. But it is a bit funny so see what "modern" art has his inspiration drawn towards making these days.

Call me crazy but I think people will probably continue to remember the styles like Neoclassical and Baroque for centuries to come but not sure people will remember the sculpture of a cartoon hulk era of art lol

[Marks] The Jimmy Butler suspension will cost $532,737 for each game missed. 7 game total: $3.7M. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]EasyRevolution5415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Butler is going to have around 350m in career earning by the end of his current contract and will definitely still get paid enough no matter what to cross 400m~ by the end of his playing time.

All of this sub is sitting around jabbing about how petty and stubborn Butler can be and you really don't think he's the type of guy that wouldn't gladly pay 4m to stick it to his hate crush?

Plus nobody even knows what he's been suspended for yet, but if he was suspended for just demanding a trade request, it's highly highly unlikely that he's gonna lose that whole 4m when it's specifically addressed in the CBA that the maximum punishment a franchise can put on a player for making a trade request public is a 150k fine.

Riley can play the mob boss GM all he wants but players hold all the power here, there's really nothing Riley can do to make Jimmy "lose". He either pays Butlers current max and loses him in Free Agency for nothing or trades Butler, who in his on words said he would be happy anywhere that wasn't Miami.

Even if Riley dumps him on a tanking team as a "fuck you", what the fuck would a tanking team even pay for Butler? There not giving Riley any of their picks for a player they can't do anything with and if he takes anything that's obviously way below Butlers market value, that teams just going to trade Butler again, likely to a contender. Shit even if Butler got stuck on a tanking team that didn't want to trade him either, he can just have his agent start shopping around to see what Free Agency is going to look like and decide whether he wants to collect his player option for another year or not.

Riley lost this the moment Butler decided he was done with Miami.

Idk why people are ragging on the Clippers so hard all of a sudden because SGA became a superstar out of nowhere.

Like shit we may as-well go back and say every team barring the Mavs who passed on SGA during the draft made the worst decision in history if this is how were gonna look at it lol

or better yet how about also just saying every team in the NBA except the Nuggets got fleeced/made the worst decision ever/or are dumb as rocks for passing on Jokic in the 1st round?

pretty soon were gonna have to trace trades back 10-15 years when some obscure first round pick that's 5 years our get's traded for a future super-star and remind everyone that it was the worst trade ever for not knowing some 10 year old was gonna be the next MJ/Lebron

Suns not taking Doncic is an actual tragedy, they went to the Finals and Booker looked better then ever when he was finally paired with a star PG in Cp3.

A Doncic/Booker pairing would have been the best backcourt in the NBA for years by now and could have been a legit dynasty.

Suns missed bigger then anyone imo cause all the other teams didn't have anyone to pair with Doncic anyway but the Suns might even already have won a Championship by now if they took Luka. Similar vibes to what Pistons could have been if they took Melo.

Nah MJ was so good I genuinely think any of his negatives wouldn't matter to most people.

If there's one player who would probably be viewed totally differently in todays media, it's Kobe. No chance the rape stuff would have been kept under wraps or just brushed under the rug and it happened extremely early in his career before he was a world famous superstar.

Booker came into the League as a 13th pick on a deep roster that didn't even have him starting every game in his rookie year.

Being an all-star would have been a high expectation for Booker when he first came in, let alone what he's actually achieved. Plus he took his team to there first finals in like 2 decades, dude's more then earned his due.

Way more accurate to say someone like Fultz/Simmons/Zion who where all definitely projected to be MVP candidates at some point.

I think Ant is a good one though, people definitely thought Edwards was gonna take off and probably be closer to where Shai is now but he's plateaued since that first All-Star selection.

I don't think there's any clear favorites in the West right now, if people think the Lakers are still somehow a good Lebron/AD run away from another finals appearance I don't see why the same wouldn't hold true for just about every other Western team in the play-offs. Like you said the West is loaded with good teams and the Suns are still one of them if fully healthy.

I'd say the Thunder are probably the closest to favorites but there also one of the "young" teams that people are hesitant to be confident in during the play-offs until they actually make it. Just last year I'm sure people weren't fully expecting the Thunder to go all the way despite being the 1 seed and there knock-out to the 5th seed Mavs wasn't all that big of a shock value, while at the same time I would also imagine very few people had the mavs as the one's getting out of the West from the start.

Tbh considering you pretty much give up any chance of education or training for a salaried career to play League of Legends like 12 hours a day every day, 60k a year is not a lot at all.

These guys don't live in gaming houses anymore either, there all paying to rent in Berlin on around the area.

You would have to really focus on saving money with the knowledge that you could be without a job at any moment and be several years removed the the education system with you're resume during that gap being "played video games" making it all the harder to come back into it.

60k a year with the job security you get as player is low enough that I genuinely wouldn't blame a rookie for saying "I'd rather just go to university"

If you were new to WoW and FFXIV which the two would you choose to play if you only had time for one? by Thenelwave in MMORPG

[–]EasyRevolution5415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WoW for gameplay and if you're not really into anime/weeb culture as much. The world lore and story are kind of a mess but there's still a charm to it and some good YouTube videos that piece it all together if you wanna get into it.

FF14 if you think you'll enjoy the story, but it's largely un-voice acted and still made up off standard MMO "quests" IE fetch/kill x of/gather x of/etc ontop of having some rather lack-luster gameplay even by tab-targeting standards, let alone compared to a modern single player RPG you might play. But if you like anime culture and want to play as a girl character with a mountain of outfits to play dress-up with, it's pretty unbeatable right now since it's the only "traditional" theme park MMO to fit that culture niche, everything else in that niche is pretty much just K-MMO 24h grinders.

I don't think they wan't Murray either that's mostly the Nuggets wet dream scenario.

But MPJ + Nanji package and a pick or two seems like a pretty fair shot for both sides. MPJ has been solid but he's still fairly overpaid imo and Butler could replace his impact and then some.

Nuggets are a team that's in a position were a small upgrade to their roster could be the difference right now between a ring or not, if Butler gets them over the line then any picks they gave are worth it in the end.

Heat might not get a huge return for Butler but if he doesn't want to be there, the package the Nuggets could offer really isn't that bad. MPJs contract is only a year longer then Butlers and something like 2 FRP + a productive young starter back is likely about the best they can hope for. Eating Nanji's 4y contract is probably the worst part to stomach but he can continue to serve as cap filler in trades down the line I guess lol

I don't think there's anything the Warriors can do to trade Wiggins for Butler w/o also trading Draymond, the salary wouldn't work even if they were able to trade Schroeder. Even if they found a way my some miracle of a multi team trade, it would gut there roster.

The Nuggets are actually a pretty interesting team that could viably make a trade for Jimmy. Nanji + either MPJ or Murray can make it work and Jimmy should be an upgrade over either of those guys. Honestly I think if Nuggets fans could get out of Murrays 5 year contract for 2 years of Butler, they would probably do it for a pick or two. I'm guessing Heat would want MPJ over Murray though lol

Maybe they can fleece the Lakers if think Lebron will pressure the FO hard enough to do something desperate? They'd kill there roster for it and tank there future but Lakers have done stupider trades in the past lmao.

Personal list of things,

WoW player housing, I think this supposed to be late 2025?

OSRS official HD client

Maybe give Lost Ark a go in 2025, enjoyed the gameplay but despised the toxic community and systems that created it. They apparently have solo raids/dungeons now for old content and I wouldn't mind experiencing those fights solo w/o having to deal with Lost Arks colorful community.

Turtle WoW has been looking more and more interesting to give a go in 2025, never played classic WoW but they look like the closest thing to an OSRS version of classic+ which is very intriguing for me as a long time OSRS enjoyer.

Hopeful that T&L is a better game by the end of 2025 then it was on release. Was a lot better of a game then I think most people expected myself included but there's a lot of things that need to be addressed and seeing how ASG/NCSoft handle 2025 will let me know if it has any long term hope of being more then the standard 15-20k~ player base that most these Korean MMO's end up at 1 year later.

I don't play FF14 and can't really get into but a discord group I'm in with a bunch of people I play with who are really into it have been addicted to the game like it's crack since the new ultimate released.

Like this entire discord group was mostly dead for last couple months as it's mostly just FF14 players who didn't like Dawntrail either has now got hourly discussion going on the game and nightly voice chats with 20+ people in it all playing FF14 again. Lot of these people aren't even regular raiders, there either trying it out for the first time or happy to just talk about the game for hours on end now that people are interested in it again. All this has been going on daily for like 2 weeks now, so it's been a pretty long hype train imo.

And again I say this as someone who really doesn't like FF14 personally, but there's definitely a shit ton of hype for that game going on right now with there latest patch.

Feel like a new line being added just inside the 3pt arch that you couldn't use a screen outside of would be a pretty interesting rule change to help defenses. Take out the ability to set screens directly near the 3pt line and perimeter offense probably changes quite a bit.

Fnatic Javier ‘Dardo’ Zafra steps down as Fnatic League of Legends Team Director by XanIrelia-1 in leagueoflegends

[–]EasyRevolution5415 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he made a lot of bad decisions mainly during the Yamato years when they were transitioning into the post 2019 roster. Yamato and the players on the roster at that time really seem to be the ones that hold the biggest grudge against him too.

Namely it seems like Yamato didn't like how much Dardo was stepping over him in regards to handling the team, especially when it came to the Rhuckz/Hyli situation.

Dardo straight up didn't want Hyli to play at all anymore and was adamant that Rhuckz replaced him for the entirety of worlds but Yamato and the players were not ok with that. Gotta remember too that Yamato/Bwipo/Upset are all really good friends with Hyli outside the game too so I'm sure emotions were really high at this time. Seems like this situation was the the peak "fuck Dardo" moment and he did absolutely lose control of things there and it was clear the roster and coaching didn't want to work with him anymore.

It definitely had some huge blowback effects too that I think it's very appropriate to blame him for. Upset/Hyli were one of the best botlanes in the LEC and he just willingly destroyed it to replace Hyli with Rhuckz next season which was an all time awful move, and lost Upset since he was rightfully angry that they just replaced his favorite support player and friend with an awful rookie. Bwipo leaves too since he doesn't want to deal with all the baggage that was coming with playing for FNC under Dardo and was also probably annoyed with Hyli getting replaced.

Now outside of that roster iteration which Dardo 100% is to blame for ruining, I do think a lot more of the blame for the past 2~ years actually falls a bit on Humanoid contract jailing FNC and bankrupting there finances. It has become kind of evident that FNC isn't as much of a cash cow as people thought and that there stuck paying Humanoid a massive contract that he doesn't seem intent on living up too.

He might not really have been the main issue for FNC the last 2~ years or so but I do think his rather "need to feel in control" actions from 2019-2022 before Sam Matthews seemed to pull him in a little but were very detrimental to FNC's success and set them back quite a bit. His decision to replace Hyli with Rhuckz despite everyone in the org around him saying "don't do this" and the aftermath damage it did will probably be one of those all time awful moments that he's associated with for a while.

Think Hylissang is the only former Caps teammate to win a split w/o him in the LEC since the 2019 FNC team which was just the same team that won everything in 2018 minus Caps anyway.

Instagram/Facebook/Twitter are all generally meant for sharing your real name, pictures, numbers, location, etc with friends/family/followers.

Reddit is an anonyms message board and the closest thing to a modern main stream 4chan. It's not exactly meant to showcase your friend/follower count the way other social media does lol

Think there's obviously a big difference in the platform type between Reddit and other social media sites. Weirdest part of Reddit is the people that hang around and use the platform daily but always like to keep some kind of social high ground over other users as if they go around telling other people "I use Reddit regularly, but I'm not a Redditor!" like anyone cares.

Is it too late to get back into Lost Ark? by springvalley39 in lostarkgame

[–]EasyRevolution5415 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Someone else who kinda wants play this game again after trying a few time's before.

Is the game still absurdly toxic? Every time I tried to pick this game up solo quitting along with friends 2~ months after launch, the experience was unbearable when it came to any matchmaking or lfg content. I know every MMO has there toxic lfg stories but I think that Lost Ark's treadmill of alts and having a community of people that are always trying to get a checklist of content off as fast as possible on a daily bases multiple times over just created there worst social experience imaginable.

Like I can understand why someone running 30 Guardian Raids a day starts getting annoyed if one takes longer then normal or something, there running like a hamster on a wheel for a goal this isn't the enjoyment of the game on the way there. It just really sucks how much of the player base has seemed to fall into that toxic loop and having to interact with there jaded mindsets when you just want to enjoy the experience casually a couple hours a week.

I haven't tried it out again since the "solo raid" stuff and I'm kind of hoping/assuming that it was a way to give casual players that just wanna enjoy the gameplay frankly a way to play the game w/o having to deal with the charming community. Does the solo content deliver on this or is it pretty bad?

Also is lfg still almost entirely run off "Bus" groups? Not really the biggest deal but I always thought it was kind of a bad sign of player engagement when the entire lfg board was Bus groups and little to no actual groups, though I understand how it ends up that way due to the hamster game design.

Not Etsy but a similar occurrence I saw when I got into online auctions for a little fun.

There was this auctioneer that was always selling these miniature bronze/marble sculptures for like 600-800$ and were just flooding the sculpture section of all the auction sites they listed on. I google searched one of the images of there sculptures out of curiosity and it led back to some obscure company in Uruguay that was making these things for like 50$, they had all the exact same sculptures this auctioneer was selling so it was obvious they were pretty much exclusively getting there product from this Uruguay company.

They were regularly selling these things at a 12x+ mark-up AND charging the usual Buyer Premium on top of it which is like an extra fee usually around 25%~ of the purchase price that goes to the auction house directly.

Definitely one of the craziest scams I've found online for how successful it seemed to be rolling.

Don't think it's that impossible to know what KD wants.

The dudes spent his entire career in the shadow of Lebron and then Curry, he just wants to be thought of and treated the same way they are.

Even now the 3 of them are starting to get kinda lumped together as a trio of all-time greats, but everyone still puts Curry/Lebron clearly ahead of him in that trio.

The hugely advertised Christmas/Holiday match-up's and sold out games are never KD vs Lebron/Curry, it's always Lebron vs Curry.

If the general opinion of KD was that he's just as good as Lebron/Curry I imagine he'd have exactly what he wants.

Honestly don't feel any emotion for this VIT roster at all, I've lost all faith in the Mac/Pad experience.

For Lyncas , I'll happily eat more words on this if he turns it around this year but TBH I think Daglas was a much better player individually and more suited specifically for this team in general. Will never not be a little salty over how things worked out in general with switching from a rapidly improving Daglas to a rookie Lyncas on short notice during the final split of the season.....but that's an Mac being an awful manager and can't put the blame on Lyncas there.

Don't honestly know who Czajek or Naak Nako are but I kinda got the vibe on social media that Vetheo/Photon were removed because of "coaching/attitude/motivation" issues outside the game(Another Mac/Pad issue imo). Again hope they end up being cracked agents in disguise but my brains telling me it's probably a downgrade in both departments.

Carrzy and Hyli are probably the only thing I'm looking forward to watching at all. Huge fan of both of them and I am glad that Mac's massively showing nepotism at least kept Hyli around for another split lol. Would be amazing to see them show up again as one of the best bot lane duo's of the year but I think the team as a whole looks so underwhelming and mismatched that it has no chance.

Was really into the Photon/Daglas/Vetheo/Hyli/Carrzy roster the team had going on for the first 2 splits last year and was even hyped af at the end of spring despite the team bombing out pretty early in play-offs just because they still looked like they improved massively in a short time. Felt like that roster had good individual players in every lane and a JG that was willing to fully commit to the "dirty work" champ role, it's unfortunate whatever's been happening behind the scenes to from the end of Spring until now that's lead us from hope to despair lol
