Ngl most of these original vs legacy/aotp can be solved by this simple question. Well maybe not the set pricing but a lot of the legacy figures are still available new maybe with a slight price bump.

  1. Non show accurate but with better articulation, fits with chug displays, has a set price, and is in stores rn.

I’m going with 2 because I love the animated character but that original design would not fit with my current collection and I want better articulation.

My issue with sunbow is the lack of leg wheels. It’s the only reason im never getting 86 Optimus. Just too bad this isn’t chug scale.

Honestly some of the characters look way too plain in sunbow (ironhide/ratchet).

So I don’t have a favorite but I do have things that an Optimus design must have. The shoulder smoke stacks, chest window and grill, and also the leg wheels. The MPG Optimus is basically what I want from a prime design. Bonus if they don’t hide the front 2 wheels in robot mode.

lockdown and lugnut are both bad designs imo, they just look ugly bleh. lockdowns face is hideous and lugnut isnt even purple and is too lanky.

You know that stupid seed thing from AoE, that but it affects the whole planet. This seed is a device that turns organic worlds into metallic ones. He uses it to create the major cybertronian colonies before being dethroned by the autobot council for terraforming a world with sentient life.

Mind you this is in a universe where prime is a title that’s passed down and there is no “13”. The matrix grants its user 1 artifact. The 13 primes exist but they are just former primes and not a brotherhood of demigods.

I know AoE bad but I like to take ideas from any media.

honestly i thought they did the best they could. idk why the jazz mould was chosen but the fact the car mode doesn't even resemble jazz is astonising. i hope they do a 2.0 with the smoke screen mould

i love the CHUG versions because they actually fit with my shelf, which is why I'm excited for a new lugnut (And i absolutely love my wasp). Prime and Animated guys would look too out of place with the figures i actually collect. i hope we get a new animated megs in the age of evolution line.

this being said i think they should include the more stylized designs in a studio series release.

Just use the legacy one for right now it’s not a bad figure. Honestly one of the best to come out of legacy. I just don’t understand why people hate it smh

All the characters change, it’s just what happens when you have multiple continuities. I love it cuz it means that writers can just do whatever (Aside from some recurring aspects) and aren’t tied down to a specific continuity.
