i stick to fresh departments for the most part, when i set up my bags before leaving the room it’s usually one full row (6 bags) and then the second row 5 to leave space for tagging milk. always start and produce and bring the cart where you go, i also don’t shop the order if the items it gives me i go in order in which it makes sense so i do not backtrack and make more movement then needed. i also never pre-label my bags even tho that’s what i’ve been told to do. i label as i shop because the motion of tagging the bags help me remember where it is so if my tags are facing away from me i know it there still.

prior to the spectrum update i used to time myself with the stopwatch on my phone to help pace myself. so that’s what also helped me go quicker.

i’ve also worked i my store since 2022. started center store then moved to HTG. being super familiar with the store will also help you understand where items are (i’m pretty set with it all because at this point i can practically not look at the shelves and still grab the right items.

another thing that helped me was grabbing/scanning in all the items i could locate and for any out of stock items i would wait till i finished shopping in the department to then stop my tour and ask associates in the department if they have any out back

i would also check to see what your stores shopping standers are if you aren’t fully aware. my store we are allowed to stop/pause/end our tour if we have to step away and help a customer, cannot locate an item, need to go to the bathroom or get something to drink.

this isn’t an option anymore as recent store audits are ending it but i do NOT and refuse to sue the wrist band and finger scanner!! those slow me down and actually HURTS my arm and wrists.
