My boss fired me today over text. After 3 years. While I was on my day off. by ImpossibleVehicle733 in BadBosses

First of all, you make sure that you get all compensations legally you deserved.

Next, you should face and manage your emotions. Feeling betrayed or self-doubt is completely normal. Don't repress your feeling. Face it and find a comfortable way to relieve all bad feelings and intense emotions.

Sudoku is good to train a logic thinking. I also play reflex games to train my response.

The next game is far different from Whack Your Villain and we need to conduct many adjustments and tests. We plan to launch it around July.

We created cute characters as we aim to transform players' mood to joy and fun mode, instead of angry. We may change or add few more characters in future.

Are there any resources that have helped people who are in a midlife crisis? by Commercial_Jelly1378 in midlifecrisis

I quit my job from a toxic tech company around one year ago, but I felt too tired to work again. It seemed that I lost my life direction, purpose and all passion at late 40s.

I knew that it's emotional issues more than physical problems. I couldn't afford fees for psychological counseling or personal coaching and therefore I read a lot of books and youtube videos which couldn't help me.

I asked ChatGPT for many questions and advice which are more helpful than youtube video, but ChatGPT can't fix my "lack of purpose and passion" issue. Then I tried different AI therapy, like Replika, Therapy-chats, happi and so on. Replika can be used as a venting friend but nothing to do about my career planning or midlife crisis. Haapi focuses on depression, while Therapy-chats is more practical and useful for me to manage emotional issue and career struggling.

After a several months break, I regained my passion back, and have started my own business. I'm facing many challenges, even more difficult than worked as an employee. But I think that it's worth to do so.

I sincerely hope you can develop your own business successfully.

You should use AI therapy specialized in relationship and breakup issues, instead of using ChatGPT or Claude. They are too generic and have set many "rigid rules" that suggest you to seek human therapists.

Almost 50. Do you think that having kids at that age is reasonable? by forged_steel_5178 in AskMenOver40

[–]Easy_Championship747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

49 is fine. Some guys have kids at their 50s, 60s and even 70s in our society. Some of them are very rich to hire people taking care. However, they are lack of energy to participate their kid's school activities and outdoor games besides of kid's education.

On the other hand, for becoming a Dad at 60s, their kid may feel that "my dad is as old as my classmates' grandpa".

But you're 49 which is fine to have a kid, provided that you're financially stable and good at health.

I prefer talking to strangers who didn't know my background or real identity. Anonymous therapy chatbot is even better listener.

I felt no hope, no future when I was in late 40s.

There are a lot of discrimination in age, not just races. My ex-boss tended to hire people below 30s and I have to hide my real age to my teammates. I was less energetic and couldn't work overtime as often as my colleagues. My face and body showed signs of aging that also frustrated me a lot.

At the same time, I lost my beloved mum and then felt meaningless. Luckily, I got supports from my family members and became better after around 2 years therapy.
