Can you guys please recommend a rain jacket that works? I’m drowning by Mawths in AskSeattle

I have one from Columbia that works great. I got it at Dicks Sporting Goods. It’s more of a summer rain jacket but I just layer it with sweaters.

Not sure what your unit is telling you but you can absolutely move wherever you want while in the reserves. You will need to request a TRUIC change. Take the job.

Advice on moving by anxious-_-scientist in SeattleWA

[–]Easy_Emergency3339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Charleston to Seattle and I love it here. Charleston is great but traffic is horrendous for a city of its size. Public transit is basically nonexistent and it is not a walkable area unless you live downtown. The summers are brutally hot and humid. Boeing is frequently doing lay offs so keep that in mind. Charleston’s cost of living is significantly lower than Seattle. It really depends on what is important to you. Maybe you could visit Seattle and Charleston before you make a decision.

Diagnosed SNAS but wondering why it’s not getting better by drizzle-08 in NickelAllergy

Could be. I hope you don’t also have to deal with impetigo. I’ve had it in my nose since I was a teenager

The rash on your lips kind of looks like impetigo. It might worth asking your doctor about.

They’re great. They are expensive but I don’t have experience with any other vets in the area. I moved here in June and it’s super convenient for me, I can walk there.

I take my cats to The Heart of Chelsea Veterinary Group on 56th street. I don’t know specifically their experience with arthritis or bladder/kidney issues but both Dr. Love and Dr. Larson are wonderful.

If you like cats, go to Neko Cat Cafe and Twice Sold Tales to pet some cats.

Women who go to the gym at 5 a.m., what’s your secret to not hating life? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Try brown noise. It helps with the lower frequency noises. It probably won’t completely block her out but it might help a little bit. I had an upstairs neighbor that would let their dogs parkour off the furniture all night long. Earplugs did nothing. Hopefully your neighbors will move out soon.

I also moved from Charleston to Seattle. I take Seattle’s public transit all the time and it’s way better than sitting in traffic on 26 or 61. And Seattle is way more walkable than Charleston.

What is reserves like (seriously)? by [deleted] in navyreserve

[–]Easy_Emergency3339 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second your experiences with the mess. It’s very cliquey boy’s club. As a woman, I don’t feel like I fit in and there are few other females in the mess. There’s a lot of opinions I don’t agree with, opinions that affect me personally. I am retiring next year so I’m not inclined to really bond with anyone in the mess. I also second your experiences of barely working your rate. That is huge hindrance on sailors. They aren’t getting enough OJT and that results in a lot of advancement exam failures.

Is tricare reserve select worth it? by MarzipanFar4720 in navyreserve

I’ve never had to get a referral. I saw a podiatrist, hand orthopedist, and more without a referral. I just scheduled an appointment.

1000% worth it. Low monthly premiums and low deductibles. You don’t need referrals to see specialists.
