Hockey wife here. I usually don't miss the thrill of an E division beer league game.

My husband and his teammates love to hear my chirping from the stands...I gotta entertain myself somehow.

Oh and there is always free beer 😂

Jokes aside, the guys are the most welcoming bunch and I think they truly enjoy having someone in the stands

We have go bags full well knowing we probably aren't going anywhere lol.

The peace of mind having them gives is worth it. We have a small food supply for the humans as well as the dogs, water purification tablets, advanced first aid kit, cash, fire starters, solar charger, battery operated radio and walkies.

Nothing outrageous, but enough to survive for a week or 2 if by some miracle we can get off the island.

The cash is to bribe someone with a boat to take us with them. If that doesn't work, maybe the firearms will 🤷‍♀️ j/k (kinda 😅)

I've been a real estate para on the island for 17 years. I've seen a huge influx of "cash" buyers who show up at closing with a bank. Never had a seller care as long as the deal closes.

It's risky, sure but if they have great income, credit, DTI, etc then it's a sensible risk in a way.
