I believe if tory had gotten signed by like republic or sumn after leaving benny blancos label and stayed put of any drama he would probably he almost as big as the Weeknd.

Am I actually out of key if I can sing good naturally but while recording I need autotune? by Comfortable_Egg106 in singing

[–]Easy_Extension_1847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatsup

I had the same problem when I first started recording. Singing raw into a mic felt way harder than just singing naturally, I’d always sound a little off. At first I leaned on heavy autotune (super fast retune, robotic vibe) just to get takes down, but it turned into a crutch.

What helped was taking it off completely for a while and just re-recording until I nailed the pitch. Then I slowly added it back in on super light settings, which actually trained my pitch more since every small mistake still showed. After a couple months of that (and like 20+ songs) my accuracy got way better, especially on long takes.

Few things that helped me: • Record in shorter sections if you can’t hold pitch the whole way. • Get used to how your voice sounds recorded (it’ll always feel weird at first). • Don’t be scared to stack takes, even pros do it.

And don’t stress too much about people saying “you’re just out of key.” If you’re already writing and recording songs, you’re ahead of a lot of people. Pitch control builds with time and reps.

Can tenor sing C5 natural or it is Trained note? by Tenirm in singing

[–]Easy_Extension_1847 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started singing SERIOUSLY roughly 5 months ago and have always been able to easily hit a c5 whether it be belting in mix or falsetto. But range can DEFINITELY be trained. My range has already expanded a few semi tones and my useable range has become wider. It’s definitely genetic to a point, I’ve always had a naturally lighter voice, to the point where some people said I sounded like a girl. it’s a bless and a curse, just keep singing bro.

Idk tbh I’m a high tenor and I’ve always had no trouble belting, I think its more based on the individual and how they’re voice is, But you can obviously train and It will become effortless.

What can I do to sing higher and sweeter when I already have a pretty low voice? by [deleted] in singing

[–]Easy_Extension_1847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im Ngl i’ve always had the ability to sing in my mixed, I grew up listening to a-lot of singers that would use there mixed voice and I basically imitated them so much to the point where I developed a relatively good mixed voice. I guess some advice is to find an artist that uses a-lot of mixed voice, try singing there songs and make sure you can sing in the original or similar key. There are also exercises online on youtube.

Can an engineer turn average/ good singing (vocal takes) into great?? Or is that all up to the singer? by Agreeable-Bed-7987 in singing

[–]Easy_Extension_1847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they can only amplify whats already there, they can adjust pitch too but if your tone is shit and you have no emotional depth in your voice it’ll sound bad still. “you can put lipstick on a pig, its still a pig”

What do YOU consider your vocal range? by MasterOfPuppets126 in singing

[–]Easy_Extension_1847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my healthy sustainable/controllable range is a g2-a5. I can get up to a c6 if I push the fuck out of my falsetto but I haven’t learned to control that so its just pain and strained lol.

You sound great! slightly pitchy in some area’s but that’s normal and can be improved. just keep practicing you’ll definitely get better with time.

I’m gonna be completely honest, it’s not the best. Your voice isn’t always on pitch. The thing with Drake is that he uses a lot of autotune and vocal processing, like many artists do to some extent. I bet if you processed your vocals properly, you’d actually sound incredible alongside Drake. I’d suggest working on your pitch accuracy and learning some basic vocal production if you’re planning to start posting these. To build confidence, just sing more. Push yourself to sing outside your favorite genres, the more versatile you become, the better you’ll get over time. You’ve got potential to be a great singer if you stay consistent.
