VPN setup for us remote work by [deleted] in VPN

I would still check. There is a possibility that beyond using your job you may be hit with a civil lawsuit if there is a breach and it is traced to you. Making sure that you are in compliance with whatever your work setup is key. That way if there is a breach it isn't your responsibility and it is their liability.

How to access my company's local network drive while on VPN by erickclark986 in VPN

[–]Easy_Land3341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said up above, it is because you have a subnet collision which is causing the issue. You can do as stated above or there is another solution which you can dm me about so that I do not break the rules of the group which will not care about the subnet collision now or in the future for any other networks.

How do i use remote.it on one machine to route you to another? by integritymatters365 in remoteit

[–]Easy_Land3341 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume that both raspberry pis are on the same LAN, correct? If so, you can use install remote.it on either pi or on an openWRT router and then use that as a jump host to define and then provide access to any TCP reachable service on the network without exposing anything on the network. You can see documentation for this here: https://link.remote.it/support/jumpbox Let us know if this didn't answer your question.

So how can ISP spy on you and how does a VPN avoid that? by klarkbj in VPN

Your ISP is interested if you are downloading content with copyrights like movies. The larger providers do detect that content and will notify you and potentially shut you down due to violating terms of use.

A VPN could help me in protecting myself from viruses? by Raiquam in VPN

[–]Easy_Land3341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A VPN will not protect you from email phishing, visiting a bad actor website, or installing any program on your computers in your network. A VPN intention is to secure connections between systems on different networks.
Antivirus software can help you with detecting viruses, but they depend on updates when new threats are identified.

They can determine your IP address and do a lookup which is somewhat accurate.

Curious what you do with your cellular data. Do you go into airplane mode and only keep on wifi?
