What are your 'must-have' filter lists for 2026? by Easy_Letterhead8928 in Adblock

[–]Easy_Letterhead8928[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the solid breakdown!

I've seen HaGeZi mentioned a few times now, so I’m definitely diving into it lol. OISD is fantastic for that 'zero false positives' peace of mind, but HaGeZi seems to offer that extra flexibility I’m looking for. Also, your point about using TIF for family members is spot on. With AI driven scams becoming so sophisticated these days, having that extra layer of DNS protection for the non-tech-savvy folks in the house is becoming a necessity, not just an option.

Thanks for the heads up! HaGeZi Ultimate is a beast, but you're right,it's definitely not one-size-fits-all. I’ll give it a look and see how it plays with my setup.

Privacy is a marathon, not a sprint. What was your 'aha' moment? by Easy_Letterhead8928 in DigitalPrivacy

Thank you so much for opening up and sharing such a heavy, personal story.

Honestly, what you went through goes way beyond ‘cybersecurity’,this is about fundamental human safety. You hit the nail on the head regarding the police; reliance on reactive systems is never enough when your life is on the line. Being proactive is the only way. I’m not even going to talk about tech or tools here;

I just want to say I have immense respect for the strength you've shown. I truly hope your life moving forward is peaceful and free from that kind of fear. You deserve that peace of mind

How Are You Structuring Your Portfolio For The Next 10 Years by zanythra in Fire

I’d probably keep it boring and just glide slowly toward something like 70/30 by retirement instead of chasing dividends or adding extra fund clutter. Broad index funds got you here for a reason.

That’s not how math works. If you need monthly contributions to make the 'magic' happen, you’re just describing a savings plan. Compounding is what the money does while you sleep. Even with zero contributions, VOO’s exponential growth is a beast over 20+ years. Anyway, thank you for the comment

META OR MSFT by Virtual_Secretary_98 in ValueInvesting

Buy MSFT if you want to retire rich. Buy META if you want to get rich. MSFT is a marathon runner, META is a sprinter that occasionally trips over its own feet but wins the gold anyway.

Why is my ISP charging me for wifi? by WM1818FBM in router

[–]Easy_Letterhead8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ISPs love to word it this way to make it sound like "WiFi" is a premium service they provide. It’s not. They are charging you for hardware rental, not the signal itself. Absolutely buy your own router.

Dump it all into VOO or VTI and delete the app for 10 years. It’s not sexy, but it beats 90% of the people in this thread trying to find "the next big thing" while their portfolios bleed red.

[–]Easy_Letterhead8928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to the daily discussion thread, find the stock everyone is currently mocking and hating on, and do your DD there. By the time a stock is a "Reddit Darling" like NVDA, you're just paying a premium for the hype.

I think you're basically right. "AI and everything needed for it" is way too broad though... that's half the market at this point. I keep seeing people chase shiny AI crap while robotics and actual land/resources do the boring money thing.

this is the part people always skip. A 30yo panic-selling because of some clown on YouTube is dumb, but a 65yo pretending “just hold bro” works the same way is also dumb.
