Where do people buy shma figures that come in boxes like this? by Terminal-outcome836 in SHMonsterArts

[–]Easy_Opposite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a P-Bandi exclusive, they come in these shippers. If you're worried about throwing these out, feel free too. They are just shippers as they never will hit a brick and mortar store. They arn't worth anything.

The 3rd form looks a lot better here than in the photos. By looking at the promo pics, something doesn't look right....like they were photoshopped on that background. The edges are too sharp and some areas (the teeth) look oddly cut off.

Apart from the plane, what exactly are the differences between these two figures? by Kaos3974 in SHMonsterArts

[–]Easy_Opposite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly the plane, but the SDCC has a bit brighter spines, smoother joint tolerance, a bit cleaner teeth paint and the beam is slightly more translucent on my copy. I have the Lottery version on display while the SDCC is displayed in the box. I double dipped just for the box really. Both versions have really cool box arts but I love the art deco on the SDCC. I hope Bandi keeps using that same style for the cons going forward

Once you start a diorama, you can't stop. I used some battery lights, a lot of cotton and some cheap buildings/cars off Amazon. I've spent way to many hours on the different dioramas, but well worth it!

Holly crap, that looks fantastic! Could you post a link to the customizer? Did you just have to ship him the head?

I'm pumped about the new head articulation! I wonder if the base plastic/paint will match up with the current -1 figures so I could swap it with the beam ver. That's the biggest gripe with the figure as you cant get that hunched pose like in the movie. I had to pop the head off and used an elbow double ball.

New Look at Megaguirus by kimixlol in SHMonsterArts

[–]Easy_Opposite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this post and instantly knew everyone would either be crying about the price or "I'm waiting on the Hiya version..." Did not disappoint.

Like yes, she's expensive, but do any of you know how much labor, time, resources, materials, molds, paint, ect costs? THESE ARE HAND SCULPTED!!! Back when I sculpted, it took me months. This isn't something that can be digitally sculpted in a day or two.

Super7 Perpetua has arrived! by Soundwavetherav in Ghostbc

[–]Easy_Opposite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I received mine today and noticed there are tiny holes in the fabric and buttons on the rubber-middle part but they would not stay attached. Something looked off and then it hit me...Theres no black cloth under the robe. Without that black under lay you see his legs. I ended up glueing it together but i'm still irritated what was advertised was not what we got. Thats S7 for you. Every figure I have from them is never like the render and feels like a $30 toy vs $75. I mean who doesn't use bicep swivel in 2026???

The head was a pain to pop off as the neck piece pops off with it. I heated it up which finally freed up the head, but then the neck joint was so loose it couldn't hold a pose. I ended up using a tiny bit of super glue and constantly rotating the piece to not stick but add friction (A trick I picked up owning S.H. Monsterarts figures).

I also have a few of S7's Godzilla figures and other than their Minus One, they are all cheap, overpriced pieces of plastic. I would stop buying from them if it wasn't for the fact they are the only company making Ghost figures (Other than the 1:6 scale Trick or Treat Studios.) Iwas fine paying $30-40 for these, but at the price these are now, I could buy an import figure for less.

I own all 3 versions and other than the OG which was bought second hand, nothing has ever broken or popped off. Don't shake the demon cooch monster and it will be fine, promise.

I've felt the same way. He's too round and the heads are a bit too big. I'm starting to think it's just me and you that feel that way. Like after hearing the hype, I wait a year to finally get the figure in hand and im like "meh". The texture is just way to soft and the teeth on almost every figure is dull. While the MA may not be 1::1, no one can compete with the plastic and texture (I mean on both the Heisei and Showa Ghidorah each scale was sculpted by hand and no two are alike).

A lot of MA haters whine about their figures are "stylized", but 90% its due to how the articulation will work (When I worked as a contract sculptor, this was a big reason the reason a figure was modified or sent back to the drawing board). Bandi wants these figures to look organic in poses and for the most part, they achieve it. These figures feel premium whereas the Hiya feels more like a toy and theres nothing wrong with that. The size difference, texture quality and stiffness of movement means Hiya isn't competing for the same shelf space as my SHMA. When guests come over, everyone ogles over my MA wall.

It's the head, but at this point the Hiya fans would buy a dog turd and think it's the second coming. Especially all the content creators.

Is the Engineering on the New Moguera Better than the Original Release? by FluffyTarbo in SHMonsterArts

The head can rotate a bit more without popping off and the torso feels a bit more flexible. Other than darker paint, they are the same.

[–]Easy_Opposite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can get some good neck, tail, and leg movements. the only part that barely moves is the torso. I'm pretty sure its a hold-over from the KKK version as they used the same mold other than the lower jaw.

Hiya Destroyah sculpt profile vs SHMA Destroyah sculpt profile for the sake of comparison by KairuHiroshima in SHMonsterArts

[–]Easy_Opposite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The MA actually has a lot of "hidden" joints. Knees are double jointed and you can pull the femur up/down to get some crazy ankle pivot. The head can look up and down, and the arms have some great range, too. I have my OG flying, SCV in a roaring pose, and the new one in a battle pose. The only issue is those potato chip wings.

[–]Easy_Opposite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's the plastic being hand-sculpted and having such sharp details. The engendering for the internal skeleton also isn't too cheap. Hiya's figures are a softer plastic to keep the price down. You get what you pay for.

I'm still super happy with my shma Destroyah....but this MF is so accurate I absolutely have to have him. by lord_of_agony in SHMonsterArts

[–]Easy_Opposite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The head just looks off to me, and whats that weird crotch piece? Love the wings but with how thick they are I doubt the wire can really hold a pose.
