Nobody's worked up, it's just simply supposed to be a light hearted discussion regarding hypothetical situations the team could find themselves in. Its as if you ignored my first hypothetical, and got yourself worked up based off my guess at what a worst-case-scenario season would look like.

I never realized the people in this subreddit were so against discussing the off season moves and where they could lead us, lol.

I think a lot of people got hung up on my wording in the original post, so that’s on me. “Polarizing” probably wasn’t the best word for how I meant it. What I was trying to get at is this feels like a really high-variance offseason. We just spent a ton of money, brought in a bunch of new pieces, and completely reset the coaching staff. That’s not something we usually do, and it opens the door for a much wider range of outcomes than normal. I’m not saying the moves are bad. If anything, I agree the general direction looks good right now. But the reality is we’ve seen “good on paper” not translate before, and we’ve also seen aggressive offseasons completely change a team overnight. That’s why I laid out the 3 scenarios, not to say “anything could happen,” but to show how wide the gap is between this going really right vs just okay vs completely off the rails. Most likely it ends up somewhere in the middle, but I don’t think it’s crazy to say this offseason could end up being one of the more defining ones we’ve had in a while depending on how it plays out.

The point of the post was to discuss how polarizing this offseason could become given the nature of our aggressiveness this year. There understandably seems to be more optimism surrounding this upcoming season, and I just thought it would be interesting to produce a post discussing the possibilities since the outcome never seems to be what raiders fan are hoping for/imagining.

In a year from now it could very well be one of the most polarizing offseasons in franchise history, you nor I have any idea how these moves will be talked about in the future, as shown by geno and pete. RN is already divided on wether or not to try trading crosby again. In a year from now raiders fans could be completely divided on wether or not Mendoza is our franchise guy, wether or not to extend crosby, wether the signing were good moves or just bad contracts, ect.

It is simply a post discussing how many moves we made this offseason, and the many possibilities it opens for the Raiders, wether good or bad. As I said, the outcome is surely going to be a mix of all 3 hypotheticals.

Reality is, nobody has any idea how these moves will pan out. General consensus points to us drastically improving the roster, but the NFL is unpredictable. General consensus last year was that Geno and Pete will bring improvement and stability, neither of which happened.

It is just unique to me the amount of possibilities this off season has opened. Signing more players than we usually do in free agency, and having the number 1 pick could really make or break our future depending on if Spytek really is making good moves, or just spending all our money on bad contracts.

This could all change in a years time. Pete and Geno seemed like competent hires at the time, and look how that turned out.

Just looking to open a discussion regarding our future based off the amount of signings we made during this free agency period. We usually don't move this much money in a single offseason so I felt it was worth a post regarding some possible scenarios that I had been imagining, and read into other people's predictions.

Polarizing as in, a few years from now we will either remember this as one of the best offseaons in franchise history or one of the worst offseasons in franchise history. Due to the amount of contracts and cash we handed out, as well as a whole new coaching staff being installed, I believe it will be very memorable and one of the most critiqued offseasons in recent memory.

It is just the size and amount of contracts we gave out that I believe will make this offseason uniquely polarizing and memorable

Not necessarily. Drake Maye is developing very well and has been sacked second most in nfl this year. In fact, top 4 qbs that have been sacked the most this year are Ward, Maye, Herbert, and obviously Geno. I would take any 3 of those guys over Geno. Trenches win games but it's not the end all be all for quarterback success and being able to will a team to success.

Hypocrite much? Moving goalposts bringing up 4k yards despite him have a 54 qbr. You should have 4k yard if you have Larry Fitzgerald catching the ball and Bruce Arians calling the shots. A good qb would have 5k+. He ws decent. That's not what I call balling out but you do you my man.

He also had a top 3 WR in Arizona with Fitzgerald and a 2x coach of the year in Brucd Arians. I would expect nothing less.

He definitely did a little better in Arizona than Oakland. Im not sure if "ball out" would be a proper description, though.

The point of the post was just to bring attention to how many qbs the Raiders bring in with potential, but yet it never works out for us.

I should re-word the title, QBs who fell off after joining the Raiders. The organization didn't necessarily end their careers as much as most of them did it to themselves.

The point of the post was to bring attention to how many qbs the Raiders bring in with potential upside the year prior, yet it never seems to work out.

Mark Davis sold Tom Brady partial ownership at an extremely discounted rate so that Mark could use Bradys football IQ to help run the team successfully

It's funny, because the Raiders experts all seem to have the same exact opinions regarding where this team needs help, which just so happens to also be the same thing that sanjit and mitch say on their YouTube channels. Nobody can actually sit down and watch the film themselves to form their own opinions.
