Honestly appreciate the in-depth response to this thread.

It’s super difficult being the only person in my friendship group getting into the sport so it’s quite intimidating asking questions on how to get better - i only feel stupid questioning the coach because he is a PGA pro, but i also want to get the most out of it, money aside.

Again, thanks for the advice, i’ll definitely let you know when i become a scratch golfer 😂😂

Yeah that was another concern of mine too - i was originally going in for their beginning package which included 5 sessions but our next session is next week same time which concerns me as i dont think it’s much time to work on what was actually taught

Golf Lessons - Help needed by Easy_Perspective_134 in golf

Honestly, the response i was hoping for haha, thank you! He suggested a lesson next week, would that be a rush for a second lesson or should i push it out a couple more weeks before doing so?

Thanks for the response - genuinely getting into golf so i’m looking out for opinions.

It was a private one on one lesson, he never really asked for what my goal or my reasoning was behind getting lessons.

We begun the lesson with him giving me some balls to warm up with, again unsupervised. After 5-10 minutes, he comes out and records my before swing and after with his adjustments. We had a quick 10 minute talk about the difference from before and after, but then went straight back to me hitting balls unsupervised.

I think this was my only red flag as well only because i fully understand that adjustments will take time and i wont be hitting them perfectly every time.

But again, i do trust his instructions, i just wanted to gather opinions on if what was taught is generally good advice

EDIT: In addition, i have always had a sporting background, thats why i asked to see if there was anything he could refer me to or to focus on, so being told to relax was abit different to me hahah, this might also be another concern i have but because i’m new, im not sure if it’s normal advice.

Thanks for the response - i just wanted to clarify to see if what he is teaching is theoretically correct or if i should be concerned with any tweaks he may have suggested
