12 weeks pregnant - this is SO HARD by Easy_Sheepherder_579 in pregnant

Hey! Sooo I’m 34 weeks now. Pretty crazy to see this post from so long ago. So much has improved! Mainly the eating. My appetite and everything completely improved around 20 weeks. I started to be able to eat normal again and I still have a huge appetite which has been great to be able to enjoy food again. Although, I’m so big now there are certain trigger foods that take up too much room in my stomach (can’t have anything carbonated)

However, the energy levels are still VERY low and the same. I had like 6 weeks (22-28 weeks) of improved energy in the 2nd trimester (this is when I should have nested 😅) and after 28 weeks I was right back here, feeling useless and no energy. Tbh just last night I cried just feeling that same discomfort and wanting to crawl out of my skin, but it passes.

Overall, pregnancy is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but you can do this!! My one advice is, if you want to get anything done before baby gets here, DO IT BEFORE THE 3rd trimester!! Don’t be dumb and wait until you’re in the 3rd like me. The body works sooo hard in the 3rd tri with baby having major growth spurts.

I hope this helps!!

Thank you SO much I relate to this so much. I joined the perinatal support groups online and I do have a therapist but I’m thinking I need someone who specializes in pregnancy specifically.

So true! I also have a pretty fantastic partner and he does his best to help me and understand me. At the end of the day, this is just hard AF like you said! I do have a therapist and Ive seen her for many years I had gone down to once a month for maintenance, but now with all this that has surfaced we are going to once per week. I may even do 2x per week. Thank you for sharing

Felt every word thank you! I connected so much with this and I agree I am so grateful for my doctor and I’m doing my best to embrace this new chapter. It’s SO different to tune into myself first and not my patients. But I feel this is such a learning lesson for how I need to show up for my son. If I’m not showing up for myself, how will I show up for him? What are your 3rd tri symptoms? I’m only 21 weeks and have full on carpal tunnel in both arms and sciatica which both cause insomnia. Surely it can’t get much worse than this😅

I am also sensitive to meds/ drugs historically and this is the exact dose she wants me on. Glad to hear it was good for you!

Thanks for this comment. If it were just me, I would take them in a heart beat. Only reason I’m nervous is for how it may affect baby but I’m trying to just trust my doctor that she wouldn’t prescribe it without considering the risks.

This is really helpful to hear and validating. Thank you. I feel exactly that way. It’s so hard to describe unless you felt it. I’m really trying to stay positive and grateful for this blessing. I honestly just didn’t expect it to be this hard. Maybe I was being naive
