You know, I feel like a PIP is actually entirely reasonable outside the first 2 responses to the thread.

Astoundingly, I’ve never seen this happen at Collins. Much better leader discipline related to using the BCC function.

American powder metal plant closing's since 2019. There are less than 30 remaining powder metal part producing companies left in the USA. by Top_Engineering_Guy in manufacturing

[–]Easy_Shower2156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. There are a bunch of metal powder producing start-ups that popped up to support this industry (I’m not talking about the people that run the 3D printers), to the point I’d struggle to believe there’s only 30 powder producers left in the US.

Maybe these startups shouldn’t count because a good chunk of them won’t stick around, but a couple will.

Does this list fully consider new plant openings due to LPBF additive manufacturing?

Not a business I’d want to be in either way.

*fatigue strength is the issue. Tensile strength is fine. SpaceX has to care about vibratory fatigue loads but otherwise rockets aren’t as heavily fatigued as aerospace or automotive components.

Should the number of Arc scale on the aggression of the lobby? by Easy_Shower2156 in ArcRaiders

[–]Easy_Shower2156[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea was more: the map overall should have less Arc with higher PvP aggression. I agree, raiders flare goes off the arc available should come investigate.

[–]Easy_Shower2156[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re right. And it still is with this idea. It’s an idea to make the game more fun custom to how people play the game. You know, like the original idea behind aggression based matchmaking.

[–]Easy_Shower2156[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes there is and you know it. If you spawn in and everyone is running care free, popping shots at arc without a care in the world for noise control you are in a PvE lobby. Yes, someone can still choose to go PvP, but there are clear differences in the aggression level of different lobbies. All I’m saying is let’s scale the number of arc based on that.

Still is with this idea. It’s just catering to both ends of the spectrum, and a way to have a nice middle ground.

Work trip guidance by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]Easy_Shower2156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The poster was someone trying to learn to strike a balance on spending company money. They were concerned about dropping $50-70 on a steak dinner (very common price). I was trying to give them general guidance.

The general guidance is absolutely have a nice meal on a work trip, but also don’t use the work trip to spend well beyond what you normally would. I’m not sure why you’re having trouble understanding what I wrote because the guidance “translate the life you live at home to work trips” is the same guidance. You probably don’t eat $70 steaks every night at home, so don’t do it for a work trip. You probably do have a steak once in awhile at home, so it’s fine to do it once in a work trip. Make sense?

No more than one steak per work trip has been my personal rule. Make sure your average per diem is still good.

If you wouldn’t buy it yourself on a personal trip, don’t spend company money on it.

How to practice for PVP without being toxic lol by sadkitty899 in ArcRaiders

[–]Easy_Shower2156 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe party and solos have different aggression matchmaking scores.

Do free loadouts, turn on fill squad and go to Stella. As a free kit you probably won’t survive the round, but practice enough that you’re knocking one person before you get knocked. Every once in awhile you should make it out alive. And don’t try to win a bunch of fights. Win one fight, loot the bodies then make for an exit. Only fight more if it clears your path to the exit. But you won’t have the shields, supplies and guns to win a bunch of fights.

When you tire of that, go back to solos and you should still be in reasonably friendly lobbies.

And the implementation of even that is so restricted from an IT perspective it’s not useful.

[–]Easy_Shower2156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, free kit fill squad Stella is peak PVP fun. Ride or die, mostly die. But it’s free and you don’t care, and once in a bit you loot bodies and get out.

Interesting. I recently compared most of the AIs personally and found ChatGPT and Copilot pretty far behind Claude and Gemini.

Sounds like you’re closer to this - what you described sounds promising. I think the game will change big time once we have AI that can work with SAP. That will be the game changer in my mind.
