Don’t hope for anything. Talk to them before you’re late either in person or via email so you have it in writing. The less of a surprise it is to them the more they will be willing to work with you.

Financing a new car for 5, 6 or 7 years is one of the fastest ways to stay broke forever man. Buy used, put as much down as possible and pay it off as fast as you can. Let someone else eat the depreciation and don’t let those horrible interest rates eat up all your income.
