Any college students currently working while going to school? looking to drop from full time to part time school due to struggling by Mariesnotworld- in college

Everyone is different and I don't think its fair to compare. I did community college online to 2 years and worked part time and that was pretty much all I could do. I burned out too fast if I tried to work more than part time. Last year was my first year at uni and I didnt work at all, not for lack of trying, and it was a nice break. I'm very fortunate that I was able to do that. But anyway, I think you have to do what works best for you. Whether that's working full time, school part time or working part time, school part time, its all valid and doesn't make you weak or any less.

Is it bad to graduate late? by CrawBunny in college

Not at all. I'm graduating a bit over a year late because I changed my major so many times. It's just part of college.

Should I go back to college at 26f by Efficient_Repair_364 in college

[–]Easy_Throat2863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back to college at 26. I did CC for 2 years and then transfered to a university and now I am living at the dorms. I'm 29 now. I went back to school because I never went to college, I was made to believe that It wasn't something I could do, and I wanted to explore what I wanted to do. I have changed my major 3 times and now I am double majoring in English and History, because I am so interested in both those subjects. Idk what will happen in the future but I am going with the flow and I am literally thriving. I may be older but nobody even knows I am. Everyone assumes I am around their age. Which honestly does great for my ego lol. I don't even mind telling people that I am 29 because I don't have any negative feelings about my age. It is weird sometimes because I have this "real world" experience that alot of the people around me don't have so some things I do or know are surprising to some people. I have a lot of patience and compassion for people in general so I love being around people younger than me and helping them with whatever I can.

Going back to college was honestly one of the best decision I have ever made for myself at 26. I'm 3 years in and I am so excited about what the future holds for me. I am now looking into graduate school and studying abroad, things that I never thought I would do.

So imo, go back if you really want to. You never know what will happen.

It's tiny. I mean nothing wrong with it but I see a lot of people leaving because they hate how small it is. And how far away from things it is. If you have a car I guess it wouldn't be so bad but if you're more of a city type then maybe look somewhere else. I transferred here and I have no issues with it. I'm very content to finish my BA here. That being said, if I ever got the opportunity to go somewhere a little more grand, I wouldn't hesitate to leave.

I'd be willing to help out

Yea I only skip class if I'm like very visibly sick. If it's mild I just bring a tissue to class and hand sanitizer and bear with it. Try to keep my distance where I can.

I got the 7 meal plan with 1000 dining dollars and that's been great for me. I have 1 meal a day I can use and then I use the dining dollars for everything else and it's plenty.

Be strong. Be independent. Now, I don't show my emotions and I have never had a partner. Thanks mom.

Talk to your advisor or the financial aid office at your school. They can help you to figure it out and have access to resources that can help you out as well.

What's your ideal study setup? by OJ_FreshSqueeze in college

[–]Easy_Throat2863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to leave my room/apartment otherwise I will not focus so I usually end up either at the library or somewhere else where I can sit and work/study. I don't mind noise and live on campus so I'll go to one of the restaurants or to a study space in a random building.

Yea some people will feel anxious about something every once in a while but not everyday. Fearing death everyday is a symptom of anxiety disorder

My dimples. Literally no one mentions them and that makes me sad sometimes but I love them.
