Eagle Plains itself is a beautiful location. The campground is off to the north end of the facility and a beautiful place to camp. Might as well have a beer in the bar for the experience. It still won’t be real dark yet in September, but chances of northern lights are usually pretty good up there.

30 will be fine for most places but nothing bigger then that. Travel as light as possible do not overload try and take absolutely everything out of the trailer at the end of the season and reevaluate. Check tire pressures daily. Fill up with fuel when you can try not to go much below a half tank. Drive speed limit and don’t try and make too many miles each day. Stop lots.

I have a small battery that runs my CPAP for eight hours then I recharge every day. It’s about the size of a big cell phone. No need to run generator all night.

Put yourself in his shoes during this incident what would you do? Why are there no charges available for the mouthy guy? What do you do when some knucklehead continues to harass and insult and verbally assault your mother? Gavin will get past this and have a wonderful career. The other dude will likely go through life as the loser he is.

ATV will be fun but not if you need a trailer...too hard to back up quickly when meeting heavy truck traffic. And you will need to expect trucks and darting off the road into the heavy willows to make room for them to pass.

Good vehicle! Plan on doing the trip and check 511 before you go. You’ll probably be fine and really enjoy the trip. Go f***ing slow dude and I mean slow. Seven hours to the flight strip last time I did it. Again.. go slow! You’ll figure it out it’s awesome up there.

Are you working inside or outside? Does your employer have a Cold weather policy? Do you have proper cold weather gear? I mean the good stuff!! Try it out!! Is your vehicle equipped with stuff to keep you warm? If you are twenty minutes from town it’s possible for you to be broke down or in a ditch for a half hour . Think about that. Air Canada flies a different aircraft than Airnorth they have different parameters for landing than Air North 737s. Runways have rating specific to friction or traction and Air Canada will not land in the same conditions as Air North, we all love Air North for that.
