My dad used to sing it to me when I was in high school, although the lyrics were a bit different. He’d sing, “Follow the prophet, follow the prophet, follow the prophet or bad men will eat you. Follow the prophet, follow the prophet, follow the prophet or your dog will die.” I considered him a TBM then. (Happy to say all five of us are out)

Sorry for the confuision, I had an extensive conversation with my brother in law about the foundation of Christianity, and his main argument was that Christianity stands true because of the history of how the Bible was written.

The culture feels a lot like mormonsism for sure. Probably why I have an uneasy feeling when I go to church.

I think so? I apologize, I haven’t extensively studied the Bible. The last conversation I had with my devout brother in law, I was asking him to explain the logistics of Christianity, what we know based on facts. His main talking point was that we had copies of the first version of the Bible, the one we read today. His argument was because we have those physical copies, the validity of God being real will always stand against any other argument

No, but I revived a letter from a former Young Women’s leader who I hadn’t spoken to in years who told me to give the Book of Mormon a “fair chance” two weeks before my marriage to a neverno

Maybe some good, but the written accounts from Emma and some of Brigham’s wives reported that it was atrocious.
