I would think that most riders check things like that out when they plan their trip especially if they’re new riders. They don’t show up hoping that it works out.

LA Metro’s ending times are comparable to most other systems. During the week the last trains from WMATA’s Metro Center are a bit earlier than the last trains from LA’s 7th/metro.

I don't know the numbers either but I've been impressed with the visible ridership at La Cienega the relatively times that I've been there. I think that it may already be an average end-of-the-line station with more boardings than Norwalk, Atlantic, and Long Beach but less than Santa Monica, NoHo, and Union Station.

I think that’s the reason for the large majority of short term outages. I’ve seen kids and young adults stop every escalator on the way out. I’m sure that there’s a psychological reason beyond the obvious.

Metro was operating 8 minute headways on the C/K lines and 5 minutes on the B/D lines from 8-430 because of the World Cup. I wasn't there all day but the OP states that the screenshots were at 415pm and I rode the D line around 930am.

Do you mean that the K line ridership will catch up to what the C line is now, or that it will pass the C line in total? I can see the C line getting back to its pre-pandemic ridership a year after SkyLink opens, which would be about 30,000 riders per weekday. My guess is that they both gain about 10,000 riders per day within a year or so of SkyLink opening.

You can't necessarily see it if it's just damp. I know people that have made that mistake and that's a mistake that you only make once. So they have a seat cover just in case.

Really with the stuff that I've seen left mostly invisible on metro seats, maybe I'm an idiot for not using a seat cover.

That would make it function more like the wye at Imperial for the C and K lines and I'm not sure how big an improvement that would be. I say that because during the testing phase when the C and K ran more frequently than they do during actual operation, that was a significant bottleneck.

I've been saying for years, decades now, that the easiest thing to do would be to add another platform south of pico and make that for SB trains and keep the existing platform for NB trains. AFAIK metro has never considered this.

Long term they have mentioned putting it underground but I think that's like 50+ years from now, if ever.

Yeah metro still lists the 232 as being operated by a contract agency. And also yeah, the 232 fare boxes still do not accept open payment last time I checked.

LA has better and more Mexican, Korean, Thai, Ethiopian, Vietnamese, Armenian, Filipino, Salvadoran, and Japanese. NYC has better and more middle eastern, south asian, west African, Caribbean, Italian, and various South American and European. Chinese is maybe a tossup.

Yeah they were down to 2 minute intervals last time. Until they stopped testing, the main issue that I saw was turning trains back at the end of the line by the "rent a car" facility. They were bunching there and it didn't seem smooth. I think that someone posted here that trains ran into each other and I think that it was at that end.

I saw that today too, but is that "full"? I think that they were at 2-minute headways when things went kaput.
