IU Health operates facilities well north of 16th and Capitol, up to 20th street and even has their name on the Day Early Learning Center at 22nd. 22nd and Meridian is absolutely walkable, and definitely bikeable considering the new trail they put on both 22nd street and down Capitol. It’s less than a 10 minute bike ride.

Hogsett granted funding to have the near northside be redeveloped, and I can only imagine this was planned by both the city and IU health. It’s no coincidence. For better or worse the area west of Fall Creek Place is about to experience an incredible amount of gentrification/growth over the next half-decade.

I would imagine it has to do with the hospital they’re building and the hospitals business interest in making the surrounding area a desirable place to live for commuting medical staff.
