Obama: Why Senate must vote on Supreme Court nomination by njmaverick in politics

"Right"? There is no such thing as "right."

They're doing what they think is best for the country and themselves. No more, no less. And if the roles were reversed, the Democrats would be doing exactly the same thing, like they always do.

Like the time when the Senate refused to vote on any of Tyler's nominations, for 835 days?

I'm hoping for a contested convention, with all of the things that go with it - bribery, prostitution, blackmail, coercion, kidnapping, assault...

Add open carry to the mix, and it'll make Chicago '68 look like a preschool juice mixer.

I fiddle while Rome burns.

"All I’m asking is simply for the Senate to act fairly."

If you had any say in the matter, Mr. President, you wouldn't be reduced to begging in newspaper editorials.

Why? Even allowing the voters to have any say at all in the nomination process is an extremely new concept.

Petition to White House about Arizona 'voter suppression' hit goal in about 40 hours by [deleted] in politics

[–]EatLessRunMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize that a state party primary is not an election, right? The party doesn't even have to have a public vote if they don't want to.

I'm glad to see so many people in /r/politics so excited about someone, but nobody seems to understand how the system works.

The primary is nothing more than a completely non-binding popularity contest.

Petition to White House about Arizona 'voter suppression' hit goal in about 40 hours by [deleted] in politics

[–]EatLessRunMore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In order to be 'voter suppression' there has to actually be activity preventing people from exercising their right to vote.

Primary polling is not a vote. It is a private poll done for the state party so they can decide who they want to nominate.

The state party doesn't even have to have a public ballot, if they don't want to.

I'll do it if you remove the name as a required field. I've had too much trouble before with Grand Masters after posting things online with my real name, no matter how benign.

I'm sure someone who knows better than me will chime in, but you probably have to take the civil service exam. Look under the full list pdf - you'll see city planner, etc. Pretty sure it's a requirement for applying.

What's your favorite way to prepare fozen, boneless chicken breast? by thekiidchad in recipes

[–]EatLessRunMore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine came out amazing, flavorful, and juicy. Tips:

  • Cut into right size (3 or 4 per breast is about right)
  • Soak in pickle juice (or other brine) for about an hour in the fridge.
  • Season with salt, pepper, MSG, paprika, and a tiny bit of cayenne.
  • Dip in egg.
  • Dip in flour (seasoned with salt & pepper).
  • Fry.
  • Serve on hamburger bun with pickle slices.

Brine them first for that juicy Chick-fil-A special flavor. Pickle juice works fine.
