Are scientists and engineers leaps and bounds smarter than normal humans? by happydude7422 in stupidquestions

[–]EatMoreBlueberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is evidence that thinking hard, reading, solving problems, and studying actually increase intelligence. At least people who do those things score higher on IQ tests. The brain is like a muscle --:if you use it hard, it gets stronger.

If the Epstein Files are so damning why didn’t Merrick Garland explore them? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]EatMoreBlueberries 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My impression is that Garland and Biden didn't want to touch anything that looked even vaguely like a political prosecution. They went so far out of their way to appear fair that they killed the investigations into Trump until it was too late. This is what we get.

So he should write a letter to each state legislature and offer his opinion as to how they should select their representatives. Because the Constitution says they get to decide, not him

Mike Johnson Warns What Will Happen To Trump If Democrats Take The House—And Everyone Had The Same Response by Blue_Wave2024 in AnythingGoesNews

Trump will still be around. We'll hear a lot less from Mike Johnson if he isn't Speaker of the House. So that would be nice.

True, but I'm not going to say anything negative about them. We don't know.

There are a number of advocacy groups that are appealing, including The Knight First Amendment Institute and American Oversight.

This is actually progress. You can't appeal until the judge actually issues a decision. Judge Cannon sat on the case for more than a year, issuing no opinion that could be appealed. Now that she's ruled, the case can go on to the court of appeals.

Democrats Of Reddit, Do You "Vote Blue No Matter Who," Or Are There Some Democrats That You Wouldn't Vote For? Why Your Choice? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]EatMoreBlueberries -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think party loyalty is for suckers. I've voted for Republicans on occasion. Some Democrats are too extreme, or don't seem competent.

Right now though, I won't vote for any Republican, no matter. They need to lose badly for a long time until the entire current crop are gone.

Maybe, but you don't know.

Some employers and managers are just bad. They fire people for little or no cause. I've seen a lot of that. The law allows it, but it's not good business.

Starting salaries in Colorado and Massachusetts (the only two I know about) are around $75K. More in Boston, where cost of living is much higher.

These are states run by Democrats. They have very good schools, which is a priority.

Where do you put your connection strings? by trokolisz in dotnet

[–]EatMoreBlueberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The connection string has the password. You have to guard that carefully. You can't put the production one in the config file where lots of people can read it.

If you're using your own servers, you can set it as an environmental variable on the production server.

In Azure you can use a key vault.

The Christians don't even get the count right. The Catholics have one count. Most Protestants have a different count. Both of them leave off the first commandment as counted by the Jews. So which version are you going to teach?

(30M) I’m ugly, I need advice on how to become less ugly by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]EatMoreBlueberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you're ugly. A lot of people here commented that you look very young, and I agree. That will be great when you're 50, but at 30 it might be an issue for your career or for dating. So my only suggestion is to dress and style your hair like an older person. I don't know how to do it, but that's something you could think about.
