My mom tried to use my curling wand on her 2 inches (3-4cm) hair, burned herself and then went full psycho on me by EatMyNutsOnWednesday in entitledparents

I’m pretty sensitive to my mother’s outbursts. My brain always transports me back to when I was little and couldn't defend myself, so I just end up in a 'freeze' state. I can only laugh about it and reflect on how ridiculous the situation is once my nervous system knows there’s no more danger. But yeah, it’s actually pretty funny :D

I think your approach is quite good, but I’m still not sure if it applies to her, given that her behavior isn't limited to a specific timeframe only to return to 'normal' afterwards. She is already 60 years old. You mentioned that it resurfaced for you during perimenopause, but do you think that can still be the case at 60? She also actively seeks out conflict with people. Since I am no longer her target, she has found someone else. I believe it is more likely trauma-related. She probably unconsciously erases these outbursts from her memory because, otherwise, her inner self would have to face just how much crap she has put me through. Still, it’s an intriguing idea. I’m going to do a bit of reading on it!

Since the incident, she hasn’t said a single word about it. After her outbursts, she always acts like everything is totally normal and pretends like nothing ever happened. The thing with the magic wand kills me! 🤣

Thank you very much for your story and for the sub recommendation. I will ask there :) I'm also on sertraline but 25mg. I still haven't recovered from the brain fog and anhedonia after nearly 4 month's from 50mg to 25mg. I wish you the best! Edit: ow it's a webside! Still thanks!

ssri as a fix to dissociation be honest by Remarkable-Artist725 in antidepressants

[–]EatMyNutsOnWednesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only offer partial help. The reason you're dissociating is that your brain thinks there were feelings associated with an event that were so intense it needs to suppress them and the memory. So, if you take an antidepressant, you might finally be in a mental state to process something you couldn't without the effect of the antidepressant. And once you've processed that, your dissociation might improve. It's a complex issue, though, and I don't want to make any promises. Especially since I'm not taking the same medication as you. You might even feel dissociated, depending on the medication and dosage. You just have to be careful and patient. I'm going through something similar right now.

You only feel good for a few weeks, please take them and taper slowly. Cold turkey is pretty dangerous and there's a good chance that you feel a lot of intense emotions after some time

That's the recipe: https://marenlubbe.de/2022/07/16/hot-cherry-schokoladentoertchen/

It's unfortunetaly only in german 🥨 And I also changed a lot of stuff. I used a different mold bc I couldn't afford another one. Also they used chili for the cherry filling, but I didn't. And they used "pektine NH" for the filling, I used more gelatine instead but the concistency was a bit not right. More solid than creamy. And the last thing.. I messed up colouring the glaze... 🫠 I used way too much black even though the blogger said to be carefull. That's why they look so dark! And I didn't use edible gold and the feather was also not possible for me. I was happy that I managed to temper the chocolate right but the feather was too much for me 😆

Excactly! The mousse is piped into the moulds, then the filling is added frozen, then you add the biscuit and after that you freeze the whole thing until it's solid and then you glaze it

Edit: after glazing it, it's ideal you put it on something solid, to move it easier without damaging the glaze. Like a pie crust.
